There's really something special about people without computer science backgrounds entering into AI. The wealth of AI has been able to attract them from different fields and they end up performing better than those with a more traditional background because they don't think the same way. There's a guy @cline who has a Phd in Particle Physics and he has worked @CERN And now he is working on Applied AI research with us( @RobinNewhouse). IIRC @AmandaAskell does not have a traditional ML background and she is the soul of Claude model families. Maybe you don't really need a degree to become a great engineer maybe you are better off just learning and experimenting with things because the time cost of a degree could be too high.

"The model is the brain. The harness is the body." I sat down with @robinnewhouse from @cline We got into harness design, model-agnostic agents, and why the bottleneck in coding agents has quietly shifted. 🧵👇

New setting just dropped: Lazy Teammate Mode. Turns Cline into the most useless engineer alive. 8 categories of excuses. Zero lines of code.

The surface of agentic coding keeps changing, and Cline is aiming for where the target will be. My internal testing of the Cline Kanban board has been a really delightful experience. Yesterday I was working on a feature, and found a related bug. Before, I would have to manage extra work trees, collision, context switching, and opening a few different terminals. With Kanban, I just spun up another card on the board, fired it off, and reviewed the PR that Cline made! No interruptions to my existing task. As code generation becomes more solidly implemented and models become more capable, management of cognitive load will be the direction of the next generation of products in this space. I'm really proud of what Cline has created here!

Introducing Cline Kanban: A standalone app for CLI-agnostic multi-agent orchestration. Claude and Codex compatible. npm i -g cline Tasks run in worktrees, click to review diffs, & link cards together to create dependency chains that complete large amounts of work autonomously.

@cline @OpenAI This is awesome! This runs like a charm in Cline ✨ And props to OpenAI for letting users make use of their tools as they see fit instead of saying "wait, but not like that."

This is heartbreaking, this guy's company banned all AI tools for data privacy, and he said "watching competitors move faster while we do everything manually is frustrating." This is why we made @cline BYOK, so you can use any model, provider, even hook it up to ollama 🧵. .

@Bear_In_Site @cline Cline Skills follows the Anthropic spec, though other implementations can load more stuff into the front matter. Existing skills work great with Cline. Rules (always on) and workflows (triggered by slash command) still have their place, but yes, skills are dynamically loaded!

Is this feature identical with Anthropic skills? Rules and workflows seem deprecated by skills. At least in the limit. Skills seem better in theory because they are loaded dynamically/contextually, the model decides what info is needed as it's needed. Rules and workflows are just hard coded always on skills
