Beat the jet lag to get my first glimpse of A-League football in the flesh as Melbourne Victory recorded an important 4-1 win over Macarthur. Shame the 7pm Sunday KO affected the attendance but still pleasantly surprised by both the standard and atmosphere.

The striker debate is settled. It’s not up for argument or debate anymore. The quality and decision making in the final third is absolutely terrible. Conway and Strelec’s huge misses have cost us the game. Only team in the Top 6 not to improve their XI in January. Chucked it.
