@BenGrahamUK So you’re saying no place for renewables at all ? Why ? Is that just because traders can’t make money from renewables ?

Britain cannot rely on wind and solar power. We’re not a sunny nation, it's usually raining and wind is unreliable. Transforming 500,000 acres of countryside into turbines and panels isn’t progress, it’s symbolic theatre. We need a pragmatic energy strategy: fossil fuels and nuclear to power growth, keep bills manageable, and secure our future.

🚨Labour plans to turn 500,000 acres of countryside into net zero farms Under proposed plans, 500,000 acres of idyllic English countryside would be TRANSFORMED into solar farms and wind turbine installations by 2050. THIS IS A SICK JOKE! WE'RE NOT EVEN A SUNNY NATION! LABOUR IS A SLAVE TO CHINA! We MUST petition to stop these ludicrous plans to plaster our countryside with EYESORES!

@HarrietCross_MP You do realise that any additional oil or gas coming out of the North Sea will just be sold on the international market at international prices - you’re just trying to shop cheap political points

The Government know we need oil & gas. They just don’t want to use OUR oil & gas. 👉 End the ban on new licences. Now. 👉 Scrap the EPL. Now. 👉 Permit Rosebank & Jackdaw. Now.

@OliverKamm @Nigel_Farage It’s beyond belief that any Welsh voter would consider voting for him or his party - despite their protestations , it can only really be because they are inherently racist and they are responding to his racist dog whistling

@jechristensen56 agreed - this should effectively become law - certainly for any new builds of commercial premises to gain planning permission to allow them to be built

@AndrewBowie_MP in no way has the current government decimated the oil and gas industry . Worth noting that under the previous Tory government direct jobs in the UK industry dropped from 38,100 in 2015 to 27,600 in 2022. stop the ridiculous political points scoring

@RhydianLFrancis You're talking absolute rubbish. Much of this lad would still be productive for agriculture - much of it isn't currently productive land anyway . Why is it that people involved in politics on the right always want to defend the revenue streams of the fossil fuel companies ????!!

Labour’s proposal to convert 500,000 acres of countryside into “net zero farms” is deeply troubling. Valuable, productive land ought not be left underused; it should be harnessed to maximise the production of British produce.gbnews.com/money/labour-p…

This doesn’t look like much, but it changes everything. What you’re looking at is an evpzee lamppost charger. It is the smartest solution to one of the biggest barriers to EV adoption. A standard street lamp, quietly turned into an EV charger. No digging up roads, it is installed in just 30 minutes. No huge infrastructure projects, a full street can be electrified in a matter of hours. Manufactured and assembled in the UK and fully OCPP. Using what’s already there. For millions of people across the UK, especially those without driveways, this is the difference between “I can’t have an EV” and “actually…I can.” It’s easy to overlook innovations like this because they’re not flashy. No 350kW ultra-rapid chargers. No massive charging hubs. Just practical, scalable, everyday infrastructure doing exactly what it needs to do. And that’s the point. The EV transition will be be driven by everyone having the ability to charge when they need to. Simple. Effective.

@jason_oco But reform are going to cut taxes, which mean cuts to public services, which means less money for schools, which means less money for them to spend on food, which means they're less likely to afford UK reared chicken. It's absurd it comes in from china, but you'll make it worse

This is absolute madness & goes to show how far the war on our farmers, in the name of "net zero", has gone. Our Welsh kids in schools are being fed chicken shipped from China and Thailand, thousands of miles away, while our own farmers struggle under red tape, high costs, and unfair competition. In places like Merthyr Tydfil, it's over 99% imported from abroad! In others, like Gwynedd and Conwy, it's 87-94% non-UK/EU sources. This isn't just about price, it's another betrayal from this out of touch government. Welsh poultry meets world-class welfare and environmental standards. Imports often don't face the same scrutiny, racking up massive food miles and undermining our own rural economy. Why are we sending public money overseas instead of backing local producers who employ Welsh families and keep money in our communities? The Welsh Government's talk of boosting local sourcing by 2030 rings hollow when our kids' plates are filled with cheap foreign chicken today. Enough is enough. Reform will champion Welsh farmers: prioritise British/Welsh produce in public procurement, cut the bureaucracy strangling our agriculture, and put Wales first. Support our farmers; they feed the nation. Don't let distant imports feed our children. Look for the Red tractor symbol on your produce when shopping. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

@northseaweather @jonburkeUK point is , you have a mix of energy sources though right ? you leverage , solar, wind , hydro , nuclear all to minimise the use of fossil fuels when you don't need them - that's surely the sensible pragmatic approach for all ?

@jonburkeUK Savour it while you can. The bottoms going to fall out of your seat as the winds disappear later Wednesday, not returning until sometime Sunday. Just imagine what a joyless weekend that would be if we only had windmills to provide electricity.

Might be in the minority but I have no idea why anyone would want Southampton in the play-offs/PL over Wrexham. Southampton do it every year, and come back down every year. It's boring. At least with Wrexham it's new, and they would actually give the Prem a go

1. We did it once. 2. Do you really want a whole year of Sky Sports obsessing about the ''Hollywood fairytale story of a garbage league 2 team being bankrolled by billionaires''. 3. Look at this stadium.... 10,000 seats. In the biggest league in the world? 4. We've already got Bournemouth, Brentford, Brighton, a whole host of pointless tiny football clubs that have come straight out of league 1/2.

@WrexhamFan3 @fearlessidzine It was disgusting the abuse some fans dealt out to the players last night. ‘This is our time and these lazy c***s are f**king it up’ was one delightful vignette. Didn’t play well, depleted squad but really gave 💯 especially 2nd half. COYR!

Most people seem to be but we need to stay calm. To the extent we turn harsh on the team and cyberbully individual players, we hurt our own cause. Lot of injuries so we need everyone. Still very much in the hunt. #askwxm
