Harsh truth: Manchester United cannot carry injury passengers anymore. Talent is useless if the manager can’t actually use you. Next season we’re competing for 4 trophies. Availability matters just as much as ability. Look at this: Matthijs De Ligt Last seen: 30 Nov 2025 Lower back injury. Initially reported as a 2-week absence. It’s now months later and he’s still nowhere to be seen. Lisandro Martínez Last seen: 10 Feb 2026 Rumored minor knock. Supposed to be less than a week out. It’s been over a month. Mason Mount Last seen: 2 Feb 2026 At this point he has replaced Anthony Martial in the sick room hall of fame. Gets fit, plays 1–2 games, disappears for another month. The cycle repeats. Listen, I rate all three of them. Their talent is not the problem. But football at the highest level is brutal: If you’re not available, you’re not reliable. United cannot keep building squads around players who spend half the season in recovery. Sell them. Replace them with players who can actually stay on the pitch. It would hurt, but this problem has to be solved. Availability is a skill. If you don’t think so then refer to Diogo Dalot.
