Decided to use a Finch to explore what LLMs do well and poorly with robots - I have only given my agent functions to move forward, turn right, and play a note (so far), but ChatGPT can use those to draw simple shapes and play common songs pretty well!

I worked on this demo, and it was fascinating to put together a set of functions that Digit can call via the LLM! The task succeeds here, but we also dealt with how the robot can recover if a box is dropped or communicate that the request is something it can't (or shouldn't) do.

@moenig @amazon @agilityrobotics @SnapCloud @robotbambi @YouTube When I watched that keynote here’s the note I took: “she said technician was treating python like block based - just grab whole chunk, switch numbers and it will move”. In other words, clever blocks get the job done faster and easier.

Humanoid Robot companies should be filtered:
→ Robots delivered to customers vs. not
→ Dynamic walking vs. ZMP
→ Videos (live demos for bonus points) vs. renders
But that's just me arguing on the internet.

Humanoid Robot companies should be filtered: → Commercial vs R&D → Bipedal Walking vs Not Walking → Hands vs No Hands (Sufficient Dexterity) The only 2 companies that are commercial, walking, w/ hands are Optimus and @Figure_robot

Delighted to be quoted in this article - robots that work hard will fall sometimes! It is more important to fall well and recover quickly than to try and prevent it altogether.
