Elon Musk just announced a major advantage for @SpaceXAI's Grok 4.6:
SpaceX's world-class engineering data will be added during supplemental training of the 2T run, excluding ITAR-restricted material.
That could make Grok 4.6 exceptionally strong at engineering, robotics, hardware and scientific problem-solving, using a proprietary corpus no competitor can replicate.

Google is developing a new chip named 'Frozen v2' specifically designed to run the Gemini family of models more efficiently. The new hardware is expected to arrive in 2028. This was originally reported by The Information. Gemini probably helped design this.

That's not how Capitalism works.

The way to think about “open” in software is being a low-cost producer (vs a high margin one). When a company (or 2) achieves record valuations in record time, that rightfully attracts competition (as it should). We need to let the free market work. wapo.st/4pvR0mJ

The Grok app/website needs an overhaul.
Biggest thing lacking is the ability to select the specific model and to toggle effort, like in Grok Build.
“Fast” & “Expert” is fine for regular users, but it’s not enough for someone that’s thinking about migrating from Claude Max.

There's not much information on this yet, and it's not clear if the executive order would target Chinese open-source models specifically or apply more broadly to open-source AI in general. But something is probably under discussion. The White House denies these reports.
