Elon Musk just announced a major advantage for @SpaceXAI's Grok 4.6: SpaceX's world-class engineering data will be added during supplemental training of the 2T run, excluding ITAR-restricted material. That could make Grok 4.6 exceptionally strong at engineering, robotics, hardware and scientific problem-solving, using a proprietary corpus no competitor can replicate.

Just upgraded to X Premium+ and spotted this SuperGrok Heavy offer: $99/month for 3 months, down from $300. If Grok 4.6 is any good, I might try it.

Fair enough, it's an achievement for sure. But, clearly it didn't help with her career anyway, she doesn't do anything related to those pieces of peper now. Which was my point for this entire post. People think they need useless pieces of paper for a strong, high paying job, they don't

@appachemoney @BiigKam_43 @notgwendalupe She studied for 8 year Didnt have experience in anything. Then her Husband, who is one of the CEOs, got them money and have her a role. She came from wealth. Made millions singing for Disney. I think its disingenuous to paint her as some sort of successful business woman.

Google is developing a new chip named 'Frozen v2' specifically designed to run the Gemini family of models more efficiently. The new hardware is expected to arrive in 2028. This was originally reported by The Information. Gemini probably helped design this.

@dee_bosa Yeah first they were like "Ai is going to make us rich" Then competition came along, as it does with every tech innovation. Now the want their competition banned for doing it better, and cheaper. That's not how Capitalism works. You can't just chose when Capitalism suits you.

“The open-model wave is not an attack on AI companies. It is the market responding to the fortune they say they are about to make. They called it forth themselves.” Gurley nails it. Open models are the market doing what markets do when incumbents are charging huge margins.
Bill Gurley@bgurley

The way to think about “open” in software is being a low-cost producer (vs a high margin one). When a company (or 2) achieves record valuations in record time, that rightfully attracts competition (as it should). We need to let the free market work. wapo.st/4pvR0mJ

The Grok app/website needs an overhaul. Biggest thing lacking is the ability to select the specific model and to toggle effort, like in Grok Build. “Fast” & “Expert” is fine for regular users, but it’s not enough for someone that’s thinking about migrating from Claude Max.

@AndrewCurran_ They don't like competition, so they're banning or handicapping them. For Country founded on Capitalism, that's very poor, and very much the opposite stance they should be taking.

The Trump administration is considering an executive order, and other means, to ban Chinese open-source models within in the United States. Kimi K3 has reignited this debate. Reporting this morning by Axios. Commerce is also considering adding Chinese AI labs to the Entity List.
Andrew Curran tweet media
Andrew Curran@AndrewCurran_

There's not much information on this yet, and it's not clear if the executive order would target Chinese open-source models specifically or apply more broadly to open-source AI in general. But something is probably under discussion. The White House denies these reports.
