@karrisaarinen @linear @grok I don’t/ have never used linear before. what is the significance of this

Issue trackers were built for an era of handoffs.
At @linear, we’re building for an era of agents, context, and execution.

Issue tracking is dead. We are building what comes next. linear.app/next

@christinexzhu Long term I predict we end up with a similar ecosystem as the iOS / Android dynamic… Majority of products integrate or risk going extinct.
English

what are the possible scenarios for how this will unfold?
browsers and apps are not controlled centrally, will they battle it out and the best ux wins or the best context aggregator wins?

In the next few years, the integration of AI will make interfaces absolutely ugly. I’m already seeing 2–3 AI buttons or chatboxes crammed into a tiny area on screen. One thing I know for sure -- more is coming!

If AI models are so great then we should have successful apps launched every day and making tons of money.
Yet we don’t have that. We are far from that.
We basically have the same issue pre AI
Building was not the bottleneck.
Yes you could build much slower 10 years ago but selling that all was just as hard as is now.

Built a design system in a weekend. Not because AI made it easy, but because foundations compound. Started in Figma, then let AI scale it to 30+ components. Design debt is now AI debt. Prompting is lossy. Artifacts aren’t. Design still derisks dev and AI. substack.com/home/post/p-18…

@raphaelschaad I welcome it. I built this ds over the weekend. Started in figma, made very opinionated choices and set rules. After I build 10 pages I let Claude build more stuff. Now my figma is out of date and I can’t really go back. This changes things for me. robr0-ds.vercel.app

I suspect ‘Code to Canvas’ is slightly wrong approach.
That way, designers merely use AI to explore; don’t shape *the actual thing*. But expectations have chanced. Designers use AI coding tools to open PRs.
What we need is ‘Canvas to Code’ — give designers powerful manipulation tools to directly tweak the actual product.
