@DrHuw I have no opinion based on cold hard facts, i work frontline and will always do so. I do however take issue with the ease at which you feel that belittling and attacking another HCP role on a social media platform is a proactive and professional route to your goal.

Paramedics should not be working in GP practices They do not have the training, knowledge or skills to perform this role This is not a controversial opinion, rather a patient safety issue bbc.com/news/articles/…
Dr Huw@DrHuw

@DrNickDalmon @simontutt88 @VincentVanGrump Simon doesn’t like others challenging his misplaced views that paramedics can cosplay as Drs When presented with cold hard facts & truth, he does what they all do & hide behind a block It’s the arrogant ones working with a complete lack of insight that are the most dangerous

@DrOKaneAgain If a response is what you wished for, you’ve achieved your aim. Rather than belittle a crucial service of autonomous clinicians, you focussed your vitriolic passion & views on conducting your own research, some good may have materialised. We can all criticise anyone without cause

35 yrs ago today, Tornado ZD791 (with me & JP) took a SAM up the jacksie & went down in flames. Next 7 weeks veered from terrifying, near-death experiences to staggeringly funny events. The following 35 yrs have been a blast with my 20th book BLITZ out in May - who'd a thunk it!

@NatashaMDay Hi - I too would love to share this with our students if you would permit. I supported one of our clinicians last year at CC and the Coroner couldn’t have been more professional and approachable to my member of staff.

@BearGrylls It doesn’t matter whether you are good enough it all depends on those taking the training. There was a recruit at CTCRM passed all the tests. But still wasn’t good enough. The training team took a disliking to him. Selection is on personality not Ability.

@NatashaMDay Faux outrage. No one is turning on paramedics. They may be highlighting instances of some working unsafely outside their scope. That’s not the same.

@NatashaMDay We we work in the the most bitter sweet line of work imaginable, personally (and everyone’s experiences are varied - it’s a lottery) I maintain the sweet for me outweighs the bitter. You do a cracking’ job of life, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. 2026 - you got this!!

What a location! ⛰️ Honoured to be asked to attend Penrith this morning, to officially hand over and register the new CPAD to Sam at the new Frame & Swift Veterinary centre. CPAD installed, registered on the Circuit and now rescue ready, with CPR awareness coming soon. ⭐️

@NJL_Blancq @MedRegoncall1 To be fair Nat, the question was aimed at Medreg, to give me an idea of the frustration reasons they’re feeling & will let me have a viewpoint on the reasoning behind this. In my happy PHEC bubble, I have little idea on plenty of my colleagues varied roles outside of a trust

@robsmithjersey @MedRegoncall1 Part of the issue with this is there’s no consistent answer. For some it’s a matter of seeing home visits, for others it’s looking after the urgently booked clinic in a surgery, others still get utilised as FCP’s dealing with minor injury/illness. There’s a huge variety

🔴 Why do we need GPs who trained for more than 10 years if paramedics with their 3-year course can do exactly the same role in GP land? ⭕️ You only need GCSEs and A-levels at grade C/B to become a paramedic, compared to the stringent medical school admission criteria. ⭕️ What does a paramedic know about elderly patients with long-term conditions? ⭕️ This dude even feels insulted to be called “ambulance staff.” Isn’t that the job? At this point, GPs could steep their medical degree and MRCGP certificate in hot water and sip it after dinner for all the good it does.

@MedRegoncall1 @NJL_Blancq Honest question if I may. Primary care isn’t my thing, I love my current role too much, so I can’t comment on the scope of practice and roles a para is currently expected to do. Could you educate me as to a para role within the primary care setting please?

@NJL_Blancq Paramedics can do many marvellous things when it comes to out-of-hospital management of acute presentations. However, they CANNOT and MUST NOT do the GP’s job in primary care.

Bog standard soldiers, not medics, being able to carry out needle decompression after a 5 day course who would be unlikely to use it for, potentially years Yet professional medics have had intubation taken from us 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
British Army 🇬🇧@BritishArmy

Introducing the new Combat Life Savers ⚕️ This enhanced role will enable non-medical soldiers to deliver more advanced care, including procedures previously restricted to specialist combat medics. Read more ⬇️ ow.ly/pVuX50WCQt7

The level of social media negativity toward the RNLI is staggering. If you want to complain, complain why they’ve been put in the media firing line rather than them carrying out their promise to rescue those at sea without prejudice (1.4% of the calls are migrant related)
