@cbiemiller @jeffhunt I think we’re talking past each other. My point is that the Marx campaign cannot win, but through incompetence and dragging down downballot campaigns it CAN hand Dems/DSA a supermajority.

@cbiemiller @jeffhunt Symbolism doesn’t win races. Resources do. Voter ID, turnout, fundraising, GOTV. Blocking and tackling. Marx isn’t going to win. But his campaign could drag down legislative races below it and hand a supermajor majority to Democrats. That’s what you should worry about.

@robwitwer @jeffhunt It changed the entire dynamics of the voter base. The people of this state care more about symbolism than they do results, hence why Democrats keep winning despite making things somehow worse every time. The symbolism of a party working together does in fact matter.

Yes but legalization of marijuana has nothing to do with a statewide campaign big footing local legislative races. These campaigns have their hands full, they don’t exist to be milked by a statewide candidate who is polling in the high thirties. A Dem supermajority is a real possibility; Governor Marx is not.

@robwitwer @jeffhunt That's fair, but there are some key words: "back then" Colorado is no longer the same as back then. Weed legalization made sure of that.

@cbiemiller @jeffhunt The campaigns I’m talking about we were during a time when Republicans were a majority in the legislature and had the governor’s office, so they worked pretty well back then.

@robwitwer @jeffhunt To be fair, however Republican campaigns have been run in Colorado is now an example of what not to do, so it's good that it's new. Whether effective or not remains to be seen.

@robwitwer OK! Been so disappointed by much of the 2nd and 3rd generation SW genre…but I truly love R1. Was hoping this series would break the mold. But I’ll give it a shot and report back! Btw, I saw the original SW at the Cooper 21 theatre on colo blvd at first release back in 1978!

@robwitwer The entire series or the latest season? I’ve always heard it was one of the and maybe actually the best SW series. Because imho Rogue One, where this character first appears, is the best SW movie after Episodes 4 & 5 (New Hope & Empire)…

I agree, especially for the 5 1/2 month sprint. She won't be campaigning for another job and will focus much more on the settled expectations of the late Senator Graham's constituents. Presumably his former staff will stay on, and that alone will make her more dilligent.

Lynn Bartels was a one of a kind. Colorado is not the same without her. Her wit, wisdom, and friendship enriched my life and so many others. Her memory will live on as a blessing and her celebration of life was an inspiration, including the call to listen like Lynn did.
