Hope you might consider joining us at Gentle Creek GC for the 13th annual Sydney's Band of Gold Golf Tournament | The Cure Starts Now. @tmore3 Fabricated fake news. Paxton is a solid conservative. Not perfect, but not tainted by DC rot.

As a Texan I realize Cornyn is a bureaucrat but something about Paxton bothers me. Too much shadowy past.

Paxton is polling higher than Cornyn!

@TGL Can you zoom out and show the flag on approach shots? It’s super annoying to not see the flag.

Since December 29, 2025, two American pilots have been illegally detained in a Guinea, West Africa prison. The pilots were dragged off their plane after making a scheduled fuel stop in Conakry, the nation’s capital. According to flight logs and radio recordings, air traffic control had granted the pilots permission to land. What came next should not be tolerated.
Moments after landing, approximately 100 armed soldiers surrounded the plane with automatic rifles and armored vehicles. The pilots, who do not speak French, were forcibly removed from the plane and taken into custody. Guinea’s government accused the American pilots of entering national airspace and landing without authorization. Recorded ATC communications show clearance was given to the pilots and they had explicit permission to land in the country.
More than six weeks later, both pilots remain prisoners abroad. Guinea’s prisons are described as harsh dangerous conditions, including lack of electricity and running water, severe overcrowding, and inmates rotating sleep due to limited space. Three civilian judges have ruled the pilots committed no crime, and an appellate court has ordered their release yet the military has refused. The multi-million dollar U.S. registered Gulfstream IV jet remains seized by the Guinean government.
Pilot Fabio Espinal Nunez (from New Jersey) and Pilot Bradley Scott Schlenker (from Illinois) remain in a Guinea prison to this day. Their families are urging U.S. officials, including President Trump, to bring the pilots home and to send the Guinean government a message: Detaining American pilots is not tolerated.

In Texas, a criminal can steal your $6,000,000 building for $30 in cash.
No ID required. No background check. Just a forged signature and a trip to the county clerk.
In 2022, this happened to two of our buildings. If you own real estate, you are a target.
The Texas county recording system runs on a "notice" basis. The clerk’s job is to record documents. Not verify them.
A criminal created a fake deed for two of our assets. They used a cut-and-paste notary stamp pulled from a different public record. They used a courier to send the documents into the clerk’s office. The courier handed over the forged paper and paid $30 in cash.
The clerk accepted the document. No driver's license. No signature check.
The public record showed a Delaware LLC owned my property. $6 million in equity vanished from the legal chain of title in seconds.
Once a criminal controls the deed, they have two moves. They sell the property to an unsuspecting buyer and disappear with the cash. Or they get a hard money loan against it, collect the proceeds, and vanish. Either way, they try to be long gone before you find out.
I found out during a refinance. My title company called with a question: "Why did you quitclaim these buildings to a new entity?"
I hadn't.
I contacted the Dallas Police Department, the FBI, and the Texas Secretary of State. Every agency gave the same answer: they are overwhelmed with this type of fraud and didn't have the time or resources to pursue it.
The criminals hide behind Delaware shells and registered agents. The county takes cash, so there is no bank trail. There is no ID requirement, so there is no face for the cameras.
Most investors assume their title policy covers this. It does not.
Standard title insurance covers defects that existed before you closed. It guarantees you received a clean deed at purchase.
It does nothing for crimes committed after.
This is a gap in your risk management you did not know you had.
It took 90 days of legal work to fix.
The "new owner" was a ghost. I had to file a lawsuit to quiet the title. I spent $20,000 in legal fees and secured a default judgment because the criminals never showed up to court (obviously).
I won. But I am out $20,000 and three months of sleep.
Criminals hunt three targets: raw land, free-and-clear buildings, and estate properties.
A mortgage acts as a tripwire because banks flag transfers. If you own your assets outright, you are defenseless.
Here is what I did after this happened to me:
Property alerts. Most counties offer a free service that emails you when a document is recorded against your parcel number. Sign up for every asset you own. This costs nothing.
Entity audits. Make sure your Secretary of State filings are current. Criminals look for lapsed registrations and "zombie" entities to find their next target.
Push for policy change. State legislatures are starting to act. The law must require a government-issued ID to record a transfer of real property. It is insane that it does not.

It saddens me to see #Cowboys fans turning on Nate Newton and calling him a sellout for accepting a presidential pardon. We may not all agree politically, but this moment should never be about politics. This is about a man being fully restored and freed from federal restrictions that followed him for over 20 years.
His pardon restores rights that were once limited. It removes federal penalties tied to his past. It strengthens his ability to do business, expand opportunities, and live fully without those legal barriers.
Let he without sin cast the first stone.
Instead of tearing down one of our own, let’s lift him up. Let’s embrace Nate Newton. Let’s give him his flowers while he is here.
This is a man who helped build a dynasty.
6× Pro Bowl
2× First Team All Pro
3× Super Bowl Champion
Dallas Cowboys Ring of Honor member
Named to the NFL All Madden Team 1990 through 1994
Anchor of the legendary Great Wall of Dallas
113 career starts protecting Troy Aikman and opening lanes for Emmitt Smith
Undrafted. Overlooked. But became one of the greatest guards in Cowboys history.
Now fully restored, Nate Newton can make an even stronger push for what he truly deserves. A place in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Cowboys Nation, this is not the time to divide. This is the time to honor legacy.
Give Nate Newton his flowers.

3 Doors Down lead singer Brad Arnold has sadly passed away at the age of 47 after a battle with kidney cancer.
"With his beloved wife Jennifer and his family by his side, [Brad] passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, in his sleep after his courageous battle with cancer," 3 Doors Down said in a statement.
"Brad's songwriting became a cultural touchstone for a generation, producing some of the most enduring hits of the 2000s, including the band's breakout hit, "Kryptonite," which he wrote in his math class when he was just 15 years old."
"His music reverberated far beyond the stage, creating moments of connection, joy, faith, and shared experiences that will live on long after the stages he performed on."
"Above all, he was a devoted husband to Jennifer, and his kindness, humor, and generosity touched everyone fortunate enough to know him. Those closest to him will remember not only his talent, but his warmth, humility, faith, and deep love for his family and friends."
Back in May, Arnold released a video, revealing that he found out he had cancer.
Rest in peace, Brad.

BIG things brewing in Austin
My dad and grandpa taught me golf on $25 munis. Rock hard greens. Worn-out range balls. Hot dog at the turn.
For years I thought the point was to get "good". Break 80. Stop slicing.
Took me 20 years to realize what golf actually is...
It’s about the people next to you. The hours with your dad no one can interrupt. Laughing about your buddy 3-putting from 5 feet. The pint of Guinness after the round.
Golf, above all, is about the joy of being with others.
So I'm saying goodbye to building tech unicorns...
...and building a new kind of golf club in Austin, TX.
Introducing The Mackenzie Club. The world's greatest upscale private indoor golf & social club.
⛳ 8 TrackMan simulators (120+ world courses, year-round)
🍽️ Full restaurant & craft cocktail bar
💪 Golf fitness & performance training
🧖 Sauna, steam room, cold plunge
🌅 Outdoor terraces with Hill Country sunsets
🏌️ Puttview Putting lab
💼 Executive offices and workspaces
🤝 A curated membership of people who love this game
Not a sim bar. Not a $150K country club.
A place for people who take golf seriously, and don’t take themselves too seriously. A place that feels like coming home.
Opening late 2026 in West Lake Hills, Austin
Send this to your golf nut friend. Waitlist link in the first comment.
