Feb. 21, 2025, marks an unforgettable yet bittersweet day in Michigan history. We celebrate the fact that the state's minimum wage will increase to $12.48/hour & will rise to $15 by 2027.

The Senate’s actions are a signal that special interests take precedence over the needs of the people. @misenatedems

ROC Michigan & MI One Fair Wage Ballot Steering Committee, key plaintiffs in the landmark court case that secured this wage increase, decry the Senate’s decision to support Senate Bill 8 as an affront to public confidence.

Yet, it also marks a critical moment when legislators undermined the Michigan Supreme Court ruling to raise the minimum wage, eliminate the subminimum wage, and ensure adequate earned sick leave for all workers.

Once again, there are efforts underway in Lansing to undermine democracy in Michigan. Call your state senator & tell them to vote ‘NO’ on ‘IMMEDIATE EFFECT’ on Senate Bill 8. Immediate Effect will delay implementation of minimum wage increases tomorrow, Feb. 21.

The Michigan Supreme Court ordered to raise minimum wage & eliminate subminimum wage, effective 02/21/25. It took 7 years to win these in court. Call, email or text your state senator and representative to uphold the Supreme Court’s decision and respect the will of Michiganders.

Call your Michigan State Senator & tell them to VOTE “NO” on “IMMEDIATE EFFECT” on SENATE BILL 8. “IMMEDIATE EFFECT” will delay implementation of minimum wage increases on FEBRUARY 21, 2025.

When I go to Vegas, DC, or anywhere in MN, MT—or any of the 8 states that have eliminated tip credit—I still tip when I go to a bar/restaurant. Why wouldn't I? The notion that customers will stop tipping when workers earn at least the full minimum wage is absurd.
