@CraigHope_DM Well done Craig. I'm battling that exact argument to the faithless Eddie out crew myself. Didnt think we had a fanbase capable of wanting a loss to get rid of our most successful manager. Gutted at the season for sure but even more so in a lot of our supporters.

Thoughts on XI are pretty clear, then. To summarise, "resignation letter" the gist of it... For me, I understand it. A strong manager picks his best XI, not the XI others want him to. The change of system/some personnel vs SAFC tallied with outside opinion & it backfired The big calls? Hall/Burn... Hall has been poor defensively of late. Keeping back 5 from last week was always likely Ramsey/Joelinton... The latter owes Howe a performance & usually comes good when needed (it's needed here) Willock on left... He was v good last week. Barnes is out of form & probably better option from bench right now Murphy on right... Howe can't play Elanga. Needs must Osula @ CF... He remains biggest threat, in terms of goals & unsettling oppo Woltemade/Wissa on bench... NW isn't an 8 & ran out of form as 9. Last time as a starter @ 10 was SAFC. Looked good last week & could be threat from bench. Wissa... Howe thinks Osula is sharper

@malma421 @ConnorRC10 If howe went to the owners and asked to be backed because therers a player he wants im betting theyd back him, howe doesnt he always wants to stick with his favs & the scouting team isnt good enough. The club HAS spent, OVERspent in some cases so cant say he hasn't been backed.

I understand why some fans want to change the manager. The league season has been terrible. I’ve been open-minded since the derby. Nobody could bemoan the decision if Eddie Howe were to go. But if the club stick with Howe, I hope everyone rallies behind him. Being the most successful Newcastle manager of recent times should count for something. Bad seasons happen. This isn’t a unanimous, no-brainer decision like when McClaren or Bruce needed binned. Howe must take a chunk - but not all - of the blame. #NUFC’s failings are more nuanced than pinning it all on the manager. With a CEO and sporting director in place, they can go again under Howe. Other managers have done so after a bad campaign. Make no mistake, if given another crack, his credit has expired. Howe must deliver next season. This is one of those rare instances where I can appreciate both sides of the argument. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is my view on the manager debate. 😅

@CharIieBennett Eddie is quite capable of getting us top 5 again but hes shown twice he cant deal with UCL and EPL in the same season, i cant see that changing. So sticking with Howe is just waisting time and dragging out the inevitable.

@CharIieBennett @AjdixonNUFC92 Wasnt just Everton it was 2 wins in the last 6 games and having to rely on manutd beating Villa to finish 5th that ended the season a bit feeble.

@AjdixonNUFC92 NUFC went on a good run after winning the cup. I think the Everton defeat on the final day altered people’s minds. 😅
