Glyphosate resistance well correlates with greater survival to glufosinate (ie poorer control). Here an example of 3ARG populations with nil, mid and high resistance to glyphosate vs the same sprayed with glufosinate. Work to do to understand why but it is very clear & neat.

@melrose6405 I would say don’t knock a science based degree like UWA…critical thinking, analysis and assessment is valuable no matter where a person ends up

Which uni course provides the best skill set for coming home to the farm for a family sibling that wants to go down the tertiary line? UWA Ag Science or Curtin Agribusiness or Marcus Oldham Geelong or something else?

@HoolyMcg @BarryGr66 @MerinoSi You’ve got to be careful with the levy and voting to reduce it or put pressure on to spend…unintended consequences include lack of funds to pay trailing costs in multiyear projects in multiyear droughts & spending on shit projects to drop reserve values

@robbert115 Broadstrike doesn’t do much at the best of times….have a look at Thistrol Gold (Nufarm product) or Ecopar + MCPA Amine + diuron….either of these brews would actually work and be less expensive

2,4-DB 2L + Broadstrike 25 g applied on 30/6 on capeweed. Still affected but it will set a few seeds. Unfortunately many others emerged and are 20x bigger but that is the nature of the beast.

@IamFarmerRenee @agronomistag I've liked your post @IamFarmerRenee , but not because I like the content, just to acknowledge. I really don't understand why the general population wants to believe farmers are out to get them ....is it insidious envy of a landowner?

@DMAg_consultant @CropDoctor54 @robbert115 It’s a huge worry. Mainly in crop topping legumes. I’m sure more stuff will come out for IBS but you’d have to pay an arm and a leg for it? Keep us posted keen to see what you find.

Always good to wrap up a 8 week trial looking at what new spikes work well with glufosinate for rye grass control. With many new actives coming out and pre em combinations, the control can jump from 15% control to 98% plus with best additives 👍@CropDoctor54 @robbert115

@lawbal44 @JarrodAmery Revystar will give you the same length of protection vs the Miravis. Demo's at Tamworth last year the Revystar lasted a bit longer than Miravis at equivalent rates. I would generally say same length of protection....worth looking at because of the unique DMI

@JarrodAmery I’ve been using Aviator for the last couple of years but I’m switching to Miravis Star this year. It will give me an extra week on Aviator.

Applying 1lt Revystar on 44Y94. Each year it’s difficult to know which fungicide to use. Different costs for length of protection. Prosaro at $9ha is a good option but I’m going for a 6 week protection since I pay a contractor with an SP to apply it. What’s your opinion on this🤔

@Ashley_Jacobs92 LR4540P has shown some really good adaptability to variable seasons, surprisingly good yields in some low rainfall seasons. But I agree with your assessment about Emu in a low rainfall, cut off type season

2 very good canola varieties made for 2 very different scenarios, Emu left, LR4540P right. My predictions are Emu if season cuts off and minimal frost events, LR4540P if September is favourable and some decent frost events.
