@PetrifyingPump And Zero Hour still going 😮‍💨 ... If they'd only hand the IP over to someone for a minimal cost, updated port. I'd even take the same graphics (upscaled, without the PSVR1 smear) if they can leverage the still existing player base and infra. No rounds and P2P was overblown.

@PetrifyingPump Tbf, me and my entire OG Firewall squad + subs (6 of us) own one and have met IRL, we just haven't used it much after the first year it released. I definitely don't know anyone organically that owns one though, but I can say the same for Quest.

@PetrifyingPump You're just being a muppet and riding the coat tails of their clicks for your own. VR is in trouble and seemingly dying by people like you. VR fans don't like seeing it get trashed because most people are influenced by what they see online. It has a negative affect overall.

This tame and objectively correct observation on the PSVR2 earned me a few nasty personal replies and a kick from a PSVR2 group chat. Absolute cult-like mentality that ironically got me in the mood to play RE4R VR to free the villagers from the Los Illuminados.

A lot of people upset at a very accurate headline. I still don't know anyone IRL with a PSVR2. Calling it obscure is the nice way of putting it. Why get mad at this site for telling it like it is?

@PetrifyingPump Yeah, it’s worth coming back to this topic from time to time and pointing out the holes in your thinking and behaviour. Maybe one day you’ll finally see clearly. There’s always a good moment to change. Not Pacman, but e.g. Roboquest, which I have 70 hours in. God night friendo.

@gh345632214 @AntonHand Only games that are built with Meta's OVRPlugin flavour of OpenXR. A lot/most/all? games that are built with untainted OpenXR work out of the box. Virtual Desktop devs have been quite happy to assist game devs with pointers and testing prior to release.

PSA: If you don't have the time/resources to get a testing group of users, using Virtual Desktop, ALVR, and SteamVR Link, to test that your VR game actually like... loads, DON'T RELEASE IT TO STEAM. Seriously. This is not complicated.

@PetrifyingPump As someone I repect said, I'm whelmed. If you're anti Meta it's at least an option that isn't Bytedance or Samsung/Google (I'd include HTC/Vive but no one takes them seriously anymore).

Picked this up for my sons (and me), who've broken 4 Dualshocks and 3 DualSense controllers so far. They've already managed to drop it once while it's doing its first charge. One more broken controller and I'll be on the streets; dishing out handies for 5 minutes on a PS Portal.

@Hero_Kvatch Also worth noting that this doesn't just fix compatibility with Meta headsets but also Pico 4/Pro/Ultra, Vive XRE/Focus 3, Play for Dream and any upcoming headsets that use Virtual Desktop as Virtual Desktop presents the same to PCVR apps for all supported platforms.

@Hero_Kvatch FYI regarding the specific issues with Reach, the devs of both Virtual Desktop and Reach have worked together to fix the issues. Virtual Desktop now has a much more robust Meta OVRPlugin compatibility, even more so than Valve's (though that was previously the case anyway).

Well this blew up. Few things to point out: Firstly, apologies to VR Dad who I thought was just a random Steam user, not a content creator. I should have taken the naming info out anyway but it wasn't fair to bring this frustration on them and I should have done this better.

Nothing new but I despise how Steam reviews have become a way for players to hold studios hotsage until they get their way. This is someone literally saying Reach is great but they won't change their review until a feature they presumably wouldn't even use is added. Infuriating.

@PetrifyingPump Tabor generally sucks, arrogant devs, full of Quest kids and has always been jank so also not surprised. Exfilzone, especially with it's latest gunsmithing update has far surpassed it.
