Journalist and historian. Anti-Labour. I prefer the Tories but I'll vote Reform tactically to evict Starmer from No 10. I'm counting the days !

@BenGrahamUK I get the feeling that she doesn't like being Foreign Secretary so she'll take any opportunity to get away from the job.

Yvette Cooper spent yesterday knocking on doors campaigning for Andy Burnham in Makerfield. A seat that already had a Labour MP step aside so Burnham could parachute in, build momentum, and position himself for a future Labour leadership run. You would think the Foreign Secretary of a sitting government would have more important things to get on with.

Would you vote for Reform and Nigel Farage if there was a general election in the UK tomorrow, Yes or No?

Donald #Trump keeps telling us that an agreement with #Iran is near, only to row back a few hours later. It's becoming tedious. Trump is a like a latter-day little boy who cried wolf - if there ever is an agreement no one will believe him.

It's so rare because very few people are proud of Keir Starmer. The opinion polls and the local elections showed decisively just how little voters think of the most uninspired British Prime Minister in living memory. BTW how about a name change ? You're expressing an opinion not TRUTH.

Why is it so rare to hear people say they’re proud of Keir Starmer? The UK economy is showing clear signs of stabilisation under Labour, yet praise remains quiet. Is it classic British cynicism? Or are we simply not used to a Prime Minister who focuses on the day job instead of chasing headlines?🇬🇧

@rogwalker @ArchRose90 Johnson made a lot more u turns than Starmer has. But surely a captain changes course to match the prevailing conditions. You don’t want them sailing into the icebergs!

As the Greater Manchester Mayor, Andy Burnham consistently called for migrants to be granted immediate access to the welfare state. He has now u-turned again by dropping his call for migrant benefits. Nobody genuine would drop long-held views overnight. This man is a fraud.

Britain is being hammered with higher energy bills in the name of net zero while China, Russia and America continue putting their own economies first. What exactly have ordinary British people gained from net zero besides soaring costs and endless political virtue signalling? The British public is being asked to make sacrifices that will have virtually zero impact globally.

Burnham has now U-turned 6 times in one by-election. Reversed every position he’s ever held. Not fit to be Prime Minister.

Starmer is being obtuse, Tony Blair didn't say he disliked Starmer's plan: he said Starmer doesn't have a plan at all. Anyone who paid any sort of attention to the 2024 election campaign would have realised that. Labour's Plan for Change is like the Emperor's New Clothes. There aren't any.

🚨 Keir Starmer’s excuse for banning North Sea oil drilling is a masterclass in political stupidity! He literally argued that producing our own energy does not protect us because "prices are set by the international market" anyway. So his genius solution to protect us from global price spikes is to completely kill off British energy jobs, ban domestic drilling, and instead quietly import dirty Russian oil! You cannot make this up. He is actively sabotaging our national security to appease his eco activist friends while everyday families are forced to pay the price. Absolute madness. 🇬🇧📉

I am heartily sick of all the Starmer bashing going on. So easy to sneer from the sidelines. And the way Sir Keir carries on with dignity and integrity fulfilling his manifesto more quickly than any previous government is an example to us all.#TenYearKeir #StandWithStarmer

Interesting joust between Tony #Blair and Andy #Burnham over #Labour's direction or lack of one. Burnham dismisses Blair's lifelong mantra of governing from the centre. He claims Labour has to move left to deal with the ' wide inequality ' caused by ' 40 years of neo-liberalism '. But wasn't Labour in power for a third of that time when someone called Andy Burnham rose through the government ranks and ended up in the cabinet ? So is he accepting his share of the blame ?
