Discount data drop from  Black Friday.....numbers from @Shopify stores using Kite… → 59.6% of stores set up a Free Gift offer and it alone drove  58.5%  sales enabled revenue → Only 7.9% of stores set up Kite’s signature Custom Discount, and it delivered 15.6%  sales enabled  revenue 🤯 → Shipping discounts: set up by just 5.4% of stores but delivered 11.8% of sales enabled  revenue → Goal-based progress bars - 10% of stores → Tiered discounts -10.4% of stores → Buy X Get Y - 6.5% of stores All in all, Kite helped with enabling sales of $19.9M through these discounts Wild what the right incentive can unlock… more soon 🙌

Hehe, shipped a Bundles SDK for a headless experience and got a LinkedIn shoutout too 😂 Super bullish on Bundles with the way they’re driving AOV for brands Excited for BFCM, customized bundles built with the SDK are going to have a serious edge. 🚀🙌 @ShopifyDevs #Shopify

This bundle, right here, generated $ 31,000 in just 24 hours for the Shopify store. What worked? → prominently featured on the ‘new spring collection’ category page (landing page for ads) → unique drop-down style layout (accordion). Customers clicked to open up a product selection drawer for variant selection. This kept the page layout compact. Delivered the experience of a full-page bundle on a product page. → it contained products that collectively delivered value, way above the bundle price → overall brand imagery alignment P.S. name used is a pseudonym to mask the brand's identity

Drumrolls. Now, you can combine discounts & free shipping into a single code on Shopify, with Kite:Discount & Free Gift app. Why it’s a game changer: One code = clearer marketing. One code = smoother shopping experience. I’ve lost count of the number of stores that’ve asked for this functionality. Not to mention the same question being asked on Shopify forums. The recent update announced during @ShopifyDevs Editions was the only go-ahead we needed to swing into action & make this happen. Ticking this off our list. As always, @diksha_patro_b was quick-footed on this. 👋

we’ve re-engineered Shopify discount functions within Kite, to now run on Rust. With this, we launch Custom Discounts 2.0. What does this mean for Kite users? → enhanced control on discount campaigns → rock-solid stability → blazing-fast scalability- manage super high volumes on all 'custom discount' campaigns. Whatever the scale. Here’s to a more powerful discount engine. 💪 special special mention: @rafathsweb and @rohhan36 who’ve worked day in, day out to make this happen @ShopifyDevs

It took us time to get this done considering we had many discount templates to migrate, but every second spent on it was worth it. Improved our discount performance by 5x! Normal discount setup that was taking 1.5m to 2m instructions are only taking 0.3m instructions now🤌🏼

@qweikeris Yes, Function powered apps can. With the carts market currency rate we can calculate the discount amount based on merchants currency.

How are people handling fixed price discounts on multi-currency stores? I'm guessing function powered discount apps can handle this? i.e. specify discount per currency/market for a single discount code?

good riddance auto-add shipping protection! @Shopify is doing everyone a favor by banning auto-add of shipping protection the customers win, and the data suggests that the brands also win! a brand we worked with for checkout customizations & A/B testing recently did an A/B test on auto adding Shipping Protection on checkout vs. not adding it With the shipping protection, they got ~2600 orders at 47.2% conversion Without it, they got ~2850 orders (at 51.62%, normalized for similar views) this is where it gets interesting. even for the ones where it was auto-added, only ~21% of those people actually took the insurance. So 80% had to take the unnecessary step of removing it now if we assume that they would always have this auto-added without A/B testing, at about 10k checkout sessions, they would've gotten an additional ~$4.8k in shipping protection revenue by selling a $4.50 shipping insurance. (10k*47.2%*20%*$4.5) but but but, the loss in conversion hurts wayyy more. At 10k checkout sessions, without the shipping insurance, they would've made an additional 420 orders. At an AOV of $60, that's $25k in additional revenue! the math is a no-brainer. brand makes more money. less unhappy customers. not to mention the customers who feel cheated when they later realize it was auto-added. net net, happier customers, happier merchants. it was never worth it! P.S - if you're a Shopify store auto-adding Shipping protection on cart or checkout, next week is the last date to stop this non-sense!

The winning streak continues.... it was a mic drop from the bundle stable. 🎤 This Black Friday Cyber Monday, our merchant partners sold 23,199 bundles which generated a revenue, of more than $3.1 million for their stores! In the weeks leading up to the weekend, we were in over-drive. Helping merchants tweak their bundles, taking up special feature requests, and getting little to no sleep (since we are in the Indian time zone). It was all worth it. So proud of this achievement. Here's to many more. 🚀

This was the first Black Friday & Cyber Monday season for Kite. The good thing about building on Shopify's Discount functions is that you're assured of scalability. And scale we did! What an insane weekend. We were helping merchants set up discount campaigns for Cyber Monday till early Monday morning, and thanks to Kite, it was all set up and ready to go within minutes. Building the All-in-one Discount Platform for Shopify Merchants with Kite hasn't been an easy ride. We’ve faced our share of challenges in creating an intuitive yet powerful discount platform, and there’s still a lot to be done. So many exciting things planned for the next few months. Can't wait.

Hiring two Customer Support Associates. Full-time Role. Remote. A brief about us, the role and compensation below, but before that, I have to address something. customer support roles have a bad reputation. And partly for the right reasons. i'm going to try and make a case for why it can be a great role for you, especially early in your career. people often think customer support is just about talking to customers, routing tickets, and ensuring a solution was found. they think its just about doing this over and over again. what they often miss is that the role, especially early on in your career, gives you optionality like no other role and also helps you acquire a key skill. let me explain. let's say early on in your career, you're not sure what role you're good at. or maybe you don't have the creds to crack your ideal role. what do you do? well, for starters, don't give up. then, try and enter in their customer support function. If you're smart and ambitious, I have no doubts you'll figure your way out from there in 6-9 months. you'll either get into product or sales role or maybe even marketing. Why do I think so? well, customer interactions are the highest value activity in an org. You're now at the center of it. these interactions should influence your product. these interactions should influence your positioning and sales strategy. And if you're smart, you'll start contributing to these functions in no time. this experience gives you optionality to start building towards your ideal role. Now, about the key skill that I spoke about. learning to think like customers. learning the skill to translate that into business and product requirements is a super-power. This is a hard to quantify skill, but its something you're either good at or you're not. Customer support role gets you good at it! Alright, if you're still reading this, chances are you're interested in applying for this role or know someone who might be a good fit? Ok, so here's a little more about us and the role: We're a Shopify App Studio, have built 7 apps (more coming), and serve ~7500 stores. We're growing fast, this is peak season for E-commerce. Most of our customers are in US, Europe, and Australia region (which means weird hours!). We're a 30 member team, bootstrapped and profitable. We're looking for 0 to 2 years of (relevant experience) for this role. Compensation will be ~ Rs 25k to 50k/month, depending on your experience. Timings: Since we serve customers in US, we'll need to work a few hours in the evening for sure. What those hours look like for you, we can have a discussion on that. You'll be working with the customers to help with the following: 1) Onboard customers onto our Apps 2) Resolve any onboarding or on-going queries on the live chat 3) Identify opportunities from Cross-selling other apps from our portfolio 4) Work with the product team to implement customer feedback What will make you successful in this role? 1) Solid work ethic. If I can't trust you, I can't put you in front of our customers. 2) Experience with using SaaS tools 3) Excellent Communication Skills. Written and Oral. 4) High on Accountability We'll spend time to onboard you, teach you different tools, and hand-hold you till you're comfortable working independently. All we ask for in return is your commitment to learn and grow. Details to apply and to know more about what we do, the culture at Skai Lama and more about the role in the next tweet! Also, if you've read this far, come on, you've got to retweet for the good karma :D
