@ayojoestar There used to be a ticketing department & a CTO (Chief Ticketing Officer). My Grandfather was the CTO of British Airways in India. He used to be super influential as his stamp would decide who’d get to fly. He’s 91 now & cannot comprehend how easily we book tickets today.

With IndiGo's ATR72 Fleet Replacement Due, It's Quite Imminent that 6E will Place an Order for Regional Jets But, for What Aircraft? Undoubtedly, the ATR72 is Well-Proven, while the A220 & the E190 Suffer from Engine Issues. Will IndiGo Go Safe, Or Take a Risk? Time will Tell.

@Avaan20 @KaptainPetrovs I agree. Free meals was something that was unnecessary from the start considering their competition is indigo. A free drink would’ve kept them competitive. And going the SIA - scoot way of Branding would’ve been better if this is what it was coming to

@rohinmp @KaptainPetrovs Exactly, but this is one very retarded airline. Also AIX has diluted the AI brand by having similar name

1 of n THE "MAHARAJA" has left building! ⭕️Air India considering unbundling meals. Airline that serves biryani at 35K feet is about to become airline that sells you biryani at 35K feet. Subtle but important distinction ⭕️Possibility of new joint MD/CEO to muddle waters even more!

@pushkar_risbud @varunb777 So your claim that Mumbai has no international demand is purely based on your personal observation?

@rohinmp @varunb777 Look at the number of airlines cancelling flights to Mumbai. United,Delta Korean Air, LOT and Finnair. ANA is also planning to reduce the frequency. JAL never came to Mumbai because it knows that the Delhi and Bengaluru are high demand routes. Same with Qantas.

@pushkar_risbud @varunb777 Where do you get this data from? That Mumbai has no international demand since the pandemic?

Pushkar Risbud@pushkar_risbud·
@varunb777 It won't. Mumbai has had no international demand since the pandemic. That's why Korean Air, LOT, Finnair left. Mumbai Taipei is a very low demand route so it's highly unlikely for Eva air to come to Mumbai.

@KaptainPetrovs They need to take more risks with destinations like indigo. I guess Bali and Manila are the only new destinations that come to mind that they were first movers in right?

@notanidealistic @KaptainPetrovs I guess they needed some place to start and test from? Maybe they had things sorted at Varanasi? I believe their plan is to eventually start from many more airports too

@rohinmp @KaptainPetrovs What if it failures in varanasi will govt stop that project. It is wrong to start that project from Varanasi. They could have started from any other airport which as good frequency to delhi. It is much needed for airindia growth. Govt should start it from other airports too

@KaptainPetrovs It’s a trial at Varanasi. Where passengers will do customs and immigration at Varanasi and have a seamless transfer at Delhi. The flight is not going to originate from Varanasi. Once works well at Varanasi same system will start to apply across other airports.

@sadist_2003 They need to forget Indian airlines and get international ones. Get the gov to renew exhausted bilateral agreements in w the condition that seats can be used only on NMIA (and other new airports). Emirates/etihad will fly the next day and start stimulating demand.

Unless you live in Navi Mumbai, Wadala, or Parel, getting to NMIA is a task. If I lived in the suburbs or down south, I wouldn't bother going to NMIA unless a substantial discount was available. This is a glaring miss. There needs to be an Airport metro between CSMIA and NMIA. Otherwise, this isn't going anywhere.

🚨 Airlines are 'NOT' inclined to shift operations to the newly inaugurated Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) due to higher tariffs and inadequate road and metro connectivity. - Air India Group.
