This violates the most basic standards of respect and dignity in the way people should be treated. We are in touch with the families of a number of British nationals involved to provide them with consular support. The worst school incident happened at Bryanston High. A group of boys jumped him from behind while he was eating a sandwich, kicked him in the head, and pushed him down concrete stairs. They kept beating him after he fell, his face was so swollen his own brother Kimbal couldn’t recognize him. He was hospitalized for about a week and needed nose surgery years later. When he got home from the hospital, his dad Errol didn’t comfort him. Instead he made Elon stand there while he yelled at him for an hour, calling him an idiot and worthless, and basically taking the bully’s side. Elon and Kimbal have both described their dad as emotionally abusive overall. This goes to show that a persons past does not define their future. Overcoming childhood trauma in a positive way can enhance the future.
