@raymondjacobson very fair - though i would argue a "real product" in that lens needs to encompass productionization, hosting, etc if you can't use a terminal you're probably not getting out of the gate in the first place

@roneil I think a good app can provide all those things (and more!). But ideally these techs grow the user base of vibe coders and I think starting with CLI first is a blocker there. Many people with great ideas likely don't even know what Terminal is!

Codex is okay, except for the terminal functionality. IMO the worst part of claude code is the terminal-first interface. Feels still like an MVP on the way to a real product. Codex is a real product, but the agent can't even read your terminal output and you can't have multiple terminal sessions per thread. WTF!
