If you’re in a PhD program, do not expect to get a teaching job. Even in STEM. Because of the demographic cliff alone, no academic discipline is “demographic proof.” If a college closes, it doesn’t matter what department you’re in.

The top 0.1% of income earners in California make 12% of the state's total income and pay 27% of total income taxes. The bottom 50% of income earners make 12% of total income and pay 3% of total income taxes. If the 0.1% leave, the revenue gap must be filled through higher taxes from everyone else or lower public spending.

🚨 California residents — this is critical. Chamath Palihapitiya just exposed the truth about the proposed “Billionaire Tax” ballot initiative for 2026. It’s actually an Everyone Tax. On page 26 (Section 50310), it gives the state legislature the power to amend the law by a 2/3 vote and turn it into a recurring tax on anyone — not just billionaires — without your approval. @drantbradley Just sending love, man. While we’re here…vocation can be boring and seem insignificant from our perspective. But putting your head down and living peaceably is fascinating and exciting from God’s perspective–or what’s revealed of it. Invisible in this case is ideal.

This is a typical black middle-class neighborhood in the Atlanta area. This is not AI. The black middle-class is invisible in the US because we are boring. We’re not depicted in movies, TV shows, etc. because parents work everyday, attend youth sports event, go to church, etc.
