@OskaArcher @theamwu If only Spud had released his nuclear policy costs a month ago we could have had a real debate instead of this nonsense. Ah well, that’s the end of nuclear power in Australia for a decade. 🤣

One week ago, I resigned from @theamwu. I was required to give my reasons, and I did 👇 I've received no reply.

.@GuardianAus have shown their bias for years—especially on nuclear. Why did they leave it until just days before polling day after millions had already voted to finally call out Labor's $600 Billion nuclear costings lie? Journalism fail. theguardian.com/australia-news…

@TAFEeducation The article says 4 million homes have solar. People aren't turning to batteries. Why do you think the tax payer has to chip in. And even then, payback period is over 10 years. Then it dies. It makes no economic sense for a house at this point.

Wow. I posted this less that an hour ago and was inundated with responses from accounts created within the past two years and linked to @ShackelWill. Coordinated? I think so. The pro-nuclear lobby is well funded and relationships to big $$ rather opaque. A

@nuclearforaus It’s also outrageously expensive to construct and hopelessly uncompetitive to operate in Australia. But that’s OK, I have rooftop solar and a battery so can ignore this nonsense. x.com/roobar99/statu…

@peterkemplawyer @evcricket The problem for Dutton and the anti-RE crowd in general is that Aussies are more knowledgeable about these technologies based on personal experiences, often on their phone.

Nuclear power is affordable, reliable, emissions free and safe, which is why it is a critical part of the energy mix across the developed world. ✍️Sign to lift Australia's nuclear ban: nuclearforaustralia.com/petition

@socratesccost @renew_economy The LNP left it way too late to win an argument as complex and multi-faceted as nuclear power. They compared apples (step-change) with oranges (progressive) and ignored the costs and delays of Hinckley C and Vogtle. None of this should be a surprise.

Whatever happens on election day, it’s certain that the Coalition’s promotion of nuclear power will cost it votes. It will probably cost the Coalition seats and may cost them the #election reneweconomy.com.au/nuclear-power-…

@dfossier @JustinWolfers Idiot. Do you think that China and others can't work this out on their own? Australia has had a free trade agreement with the US since 2005. There's literally nothing to negotiate. Trump will cave on tariffs. 🤣

If a foreign adversary really wanted to undermine American manufacturers, they would make it so that every factory in the world -- except those in the United States -- can import the equipment they need from China without paying a 145% up charge.

Dutton is Trump Lite with all of the downside and none of that special Trumpy understanding of his electorate. Spud's treated the voters like mugs. The problem is, Aussies have been watching Trump treat his US voters like mugs, so we know it when we now see it from Dutton.
Peter Dutton@Hon_PeterDutton

A message from Kirilly Dutton: Above all else, Peter is a listener. Whether he is with family, friends, residents in Dickson, or the many Australians he meets as a parliamentarian, he is attentive and curious. He isn’t one of those politicians who speaks over people or tells people how it is. He asks questions. He wants to hear other people’s stories and perspectives. And that’s what makes him attuned to the views and values of everyday Australians. He started and ran a successful business. He has been an Assistant Treasurer. He knows what makes the economy tick. He has been part of Coalition governments that have cleaned up the economic mess they have inherited. And he will do it again. Peter has held some of the toughest jobs in government as Home Affairs and Defence Minister. He has made difficult but necessary decisions in our nation’s best interests. Australians respect his strength of character. They know he is man who can bring certainty for our country amidst uncertain times. And while he is firm, he is fair and compassionate too. From his time as a police officer through to today, he is driven by a desire to protect others and a clear sense of morality. He knows there is right and wrong, and good and evil, in the world. Despite his roles and workload, he has always been a wonderful husband and a dedicated and present father to his children. He has always prioritised time with myself and the kids and has endless time for his extended family – especially his nieces and nephews. Peter is the prime minister we need for our times.
