Did some AI puck-tracking on that controversial Oilers/Ducks call. As an Oilers fan it pains me to say it, but the math doesn't lie — it's a goal. By 3 pixels. @Sportsnet

What I most desire doesn’t exist on the market yet: a coding agent model, but it’s only been trained on code reviews by Eastern Europeans.

Game Pass Ultimate has become too expensive for too many players. Starting today, we’re dropping the price from $29.99 to $22.99/month. Future Call of Duty titles will no longer join Game Pass Ultimate on day one. They will join this tier the following holiday after launch (about a year later). Current Call of Duty titles will remain available to Ultimate subscribers. We’ll keep learning and evolving Game Pass to better match what matters to players. xbx.lv/4cWO9hR

The core idea of Lord of the Rings is kinda hilarious. You're a 23 year old junior dev in some Ohio suburb. There's a little npm package in your grandpa's node_modules with a hardcoded admin token that has root access to every server on the internet. Now it's on you to SSH into the only air-gapped machine in the world in Arizona before AWS finds the token, force-pushes to main, and takes down your whole company.

TIL the USSR concealed a bug in a hand-carved Great Seal given as a "gift" in 1945 to the US ambassador that was only discovered by accident in 1951. The bug was designed by Theremin (!) and had no power source or active electronic components. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Thing…

🚨 You need to see this. @addyosmani from Google just dropped his new Agent Skills and it's incredible. It brings 19 engineering skills + 7 commands to AI coding agents, all inspired by Google best practices 🤯 AI coding agents are powerful, but left alone, they take shortcuts. They skip specs, tests, and security reviews, optimizing for "done" over "correct." Addy built this to fix that. Each skill encodes the workflows and quality gates that senior engineers actually use: spec before code, test before merge, measure before optimize. The full lifecycle is covered: → Define - refine ideas, write specs before a single line of code → Plan - decompose into small, verifiable tasks → Build - incremental implementation, context engineering, clean API design → Verify - TDD, browser testing with DevTools, systematic debugging → Review - code quality, security hardening, performance optimization → Ship - git workflow, CI/CD, ADRs, pre-launch checklists Features 7 slash commands: (/spec, /plan, /build, /test, /review, /code-simplify, /ship) that map to this lifecycle. It works with: ✦ Claude Code ✦ Cursor ✦ Antigravity ✦ ... and any agent accepting Markdown. Baking in Google-tier engineering culture (Shift Left, Chesterton's Fence, Hyrum's Law) directly into your agent's step-by-step workflow! `npx skills add addyosmani/agent-skills` Free and open-source. 🚨 Microsoft just open sourced a voice AI that was too dangerous to keep live. They took it down. Added watermarks and safety controls. Then re-released it. For free. It's called VibeVoice. Microsoft's frontier open source voice AI. Clone any voice from 10 seconds of audio. Generate 90 minutes of multi-speaker conversation. Real-time streaming. All running locally on your machine. No ElevenLabs. No $99/month subscription. No per-minute pricing. Here's what this thing does: → Text-to-speech that sounds indistinguishable from a real human → Generate up to 90 minutes of audio in a single pass → 4 distinct speakers in one conversation with natural turn-taking → Clone any voice from just 10 seconds of audio → Real-time streaming TTS. First audio in ~200 milliseconds. → Speech-to-text that processes 60 minutes of audio in one pass → Identifies who said what and when. Speaker labels + timestamps. → Supports 50+ languages for transcription → Custom hotwords for names, technical terms, domain-specific accuracy Here's the wildest part: Give it a podcast script. It generates a full multi-speaker conversation that sounds like two real humans talking. Natural pauses. Emotional nuance. Turn-taking. 90 minutes. One command. Microsoft had to take this repo down once because people were misusing it for deepfakes and disinformation. They brought it back with embedded watermarks, audio disclaimers, and safety controls. That's how powerful this is. A $3 trillion company built it. Released it. Pulled it. Fixed it. And gave it back to the world. ElevenLabs: $99/month. Play.ht: $39/month. Amazon Polly: pay per character. This: Free. Local. MIT License. 23.5K GitHub stars. 2.6K forks. Backed by Microsoft Research. 100% Open Source.
