I’m struggling to understand your reply although I have seen this term “suicidal empathy” bandied about online. Another weak attempt by those who are finding the hypocrisy of their heroes to difficult to argue for is my guess. Slogans will not allow you to escape from the reality we are witnessing. Who is leading Syria right now? Who is in control in Afghanistan? Are you afraid of Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Indonesia? If so why?

Where do you study history? Pakistan, Malaysia, Indonesia and many other countries are predominantly Muslim. They are no threat to the world. Which country has used nuclear weapons? Which country fights wars far from its own borders? Who is the single most lethal entity and be honest?

I can pretty much guarantee that the person posting is not Elon Musk although perhaps they maybe someone who works for Mr Musk in this capacity in which case I stand by my comment. Your remark about decent people with a brain is amusing. I find it difficult to understand who these people are most of the time. When I think about some of the people who I have believed are decent people with a brain there is usually someone who has quite the opposite opinion of them. Oh well each to their own shall we agree?

I’m not sure if I follow your analogy although I’m sure you are generalising a bit. However, let us give you the benefit of the doubt and agree that there may be many immigrants from different nations moving around the world who want to hold on to some of their own beliefs, culture, language. They may even struggle with taking on the new ways of the countries they move to. This sounds very much like the early days of the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand where I am from. In our case we didn’t adopt the ways of the culture already here, we assimilated them into our culture and all peoples who came here, Chinese, German, Danish, Indian were assimilated too yet they could keep their identity, their language etc which the did and still do with lots of cultural groups, religious organisations and we all accept each other. This happens in every emerging nation and the USA is supposedly the showcase of how immigration produces the world’s melting pot of freedom. The fear tactic is not how most Muslim people think in the USA. They are not alll terrorists nor are they trying to take over. This is how manipulators operate by using fear to stoke division allowing them to control the narrative. The truth is your country is the aggressor in our age and before it was the European Colonisers and before it was the Empire armies. There will always be aggressors when we allow them to stoke hatred in our minds. Religions teach tolerance though no religious people appear to be tolerant it is so ridiculous. These are the real problems facing humanity, not a falling birth rate, climate change, overpopulation, all of the things they try to scare us with. The inability of people to understand each other and our differences and to embrace them rather than to cancel them. We are all different every single one of us. Embrace this and find peace in this Mr Musk.

Yes you and your fascination with fear propaganda. We both know you were much more fascinated by the Nazi German propaganda machine and how they were able to mobilise millions against the rest of the world believing they were a “super race” who were under threat. Sending your consciousness anywhere else would be an insult to the Universe you perverse little man!

Asimov’s Foundation series was a major influence on me. That and the fall of Rome, from which Foundation takes inspiration, is what convinced me that we need to extend consciousness beyond Earth to avoid a potentially infinite dark age.

We will never get "our shit together", but it does not matter. I mean it matters to try. Even if we'll never get there. Trying is the journey. Every time you try, you make things a little better for someone. The journey is the destination. And when/if we ever would get our act together, we might as well pack up, and turn off the light. There be nothing more to do. At least how I see it. We're not build to lay in the sun, with no purpose, for all eternity.
