who's building AI-first "app performance monitoring for people who aren't sysadmins and really just want to get back to building things"?

I continue building my American dream. 15 years ago I sold my Honda Magna and honestly regretted many times about doing this. So when I found this 1996 VF750 on Facebook Marketplace in the nearby city, I said to myself, “Why the heck not?”. So it is here, on my driveway. Welcome!

Switzerland is surreal. I keep thinking what it must be like to be from here: nowhere else can be as perfect. Good morning!

How do you guys profile API requests in a Rails app? Is there something like rack-miniprofiler for that?

@GregMolnar Yes, open http://localhost:3000/rorvswild to list the last 100 requests

@rorvswild Can you see the metrics for API requests in development? I mean a request initiated with cURL.

@igor_alexandrov A minimum password entropy is a better constraint than password rules.

@GregMolnar They probably were lacking some space with all those Cloudwatches and Datadogs.

@rorvswild It is weird that you didn't show up in the last results. What I would do is, I would send an email to the customers and ask them to fill out a survey and put down you at "other" for this question. They will have to mention you if there will be responses like that.

Added a cute tiny @genevarb stamp to the #Ruby passport. Thank you @adrianthedev & @avo_hq team for the passports and goodies for the meetup. Everybody was happy and couldn't stop playing with your quite satisfying fidget toy ❤️

I'm sure, if we had theses conditions: dead_tuples >= autovacuum_vacuum_threshold OR dead_tuples >= autovacuum_vacuum_scale_factor * count(*) instead of this one: dead_tuples >= autovacuum_vacuum_threshold + autovacuum_vacuum_scale_factor * count(*) we could have a default working both for small and large tables.

Claude and I fixed fixed a 10s admin query today. Postgres Index Only Scan, but 17k heap fetches because the visibility map was stale. Default autovacuum scale_factor of 0.2 is too loose on a 3-4M row table. VACUUM + tightened scale_factor to 0.02. 11s → 77ms. 135× faster. No code changes. 😎
