On the phone to initiate a medical leave request and I can't move forward because I don't know my orthopedist's fax number. In the Year of Our Lord, 2022, a fax number is required.

@RajRatwani And they don't fit in your wallet unless folded awkwardly. So non-standard and not as usable as it could be

Systematic review of safety impacts of information overload in EHRs @JPatientSafety Only 29 studies met inclusion criteria over a decade. Likely not because evidence is little but because how little funding investment has been made in this type of work journals.lww.com/journalpatient…

@LisaRotenstein @JAMANetworkOpen @Ted_Melnick @ChristineSinsky See below: promised ref: Physicians’ gender and their use of electronic health records: findings from a mixed-methods usability study. Khairat et al. JAMIA 2019. Found women MDs more efficient at EHR use than male MDs. Less angry at EHR. Usability study in "lab" study.

@LisaRotenstein @JAMANetworkOpen @Ted_Melnick @ChristineSinsky Very interesting research. We published a study that found women physicians were more efficient in their use of the EHR than were male docs, spent less time to achieve the same accuracy, and were less angry at the EHR; probably because they were more efficient. It really freaks me out seeing patients who had such mild, borderline asymptomatic COVID come back with just fibrotic and basically non-functional lungs months later

@RajRatwani @cathymcmorris @Cerner @DeptVetAffairs So true and so resisted by the powers that be. Somehow knowing about errors will violate IP. Why protect the IP of systems that hurt patients. Don't we want to improve healthcare and reduce errors?
