After a three year battle, my mom has passed away 💔. So many of you have been so kind behind the scenes …I appreciate all the kind words and notes along the way….🥹

17-year-old me gets to live his dream tonight as I get to call my first NHL game. Flames vs Senators on TSN 5. A few thoughts on the journey 23 years after graduating from broadcasting school.

The Toronto Blue Jays are tied for the best record in the entire American League. How many Jays fans thought that would be a reality at this point into the season? Just an incredible run. Need it continue!

@JamesRadio They just got a top 4 D-man who is massive and mean, and a bottom 6 forward with pretty good upside. If nothing else, they will be harder to play against.

I actually like the trade for the Sabres. Now they just need a player like :.checks notes.: JJ Peterka.

Visited my 7th province today. 3 more and a territory or two to go. One day. First visited Canada in 1992. It’s an amazing country. You should come and have look for yourself.

Can we stop talking about Mitch Marner please. He’s leaving. Who cares. Now, Joe Bowen retiring — that’s hard to process.

As a Raptors fan and as a Canadian, who do you root for? Former Raptor Pascal? Or SGA’s Thunder?

@JasonGregor @MLarkinHockey As a guy who lived in several 🇨🇦 hockey markets and then Miami for 6 years, I can tell you the tax break is huge. But also, when you are tired and beat up in January, it certainly feels better walking the dog in sunshine and warmth over rain or snow. There’s a mental aspect too

maybe they got better MGMT. TB unreal scouting, but all of their big stars, when signed, were top 3-8 paid at their position. No real hometown discount. FLA unreal trading under Zito. Prior to Zito Panthers won nothing. In cap era only two of those teams are in the top 15 in playoff games played. FLA isn't one.

Doubling down just so people understand I'm not picking on the Panthers. 18.75% of NHL teams (six in total) play in markets without state income tax. Those six teams have earned 62.75% of the Conference Final berths since 2020. Get it?

6. Maybe Mathews isn’t either. But he’s not a free agent so it’s moot. Move on from that narrative. 7. Treliving doesn’t have to replace him this year. He can tinker until a better FA class in ‘26. 8. Let Treliving do his thing and then judge the DNA change.

3. Marner was clear at the beginning of the year. He wasn’t talking contract because he refused to negotiate. 4. Marner has never taken a hometown discount. 5. He’s not built for pressure. See every single playoff.

Some facts: 1. Mitch Marner is not an elite player. Those guys are in the Hart Trophy conversation. He’s not. However, He’s a really good player. 2. No tax states are game changers. As a guy who has worked in Toronto and Miami, your take home is MUCH nicer in FLA.
