@CoachRMcDonald 100%! Coaching for 30 years ages 5-14 and HS for 3 years. Haven’t run half court zone once. Aside from occasional full court press we play 11-help for all ages w/1-pass away deny for older teams. Duty bound to prep kids for HS not chase youth league trophies.

Zone at youth level is about an adult’s decision to get a cheap win instead of the kids’ development. What is this teaching? Laziness, standing and watching, poor communication, and zero accountability. Teach habits. Zone at this level is FOOLS GOLD!
