My next book club book is coming on June 19, so I need to finish the May book this week! Thirteen chapters in- so far, so good! #booklove Thankful for my brother for this gift.

Teachers do pre-assessment & planning for instruction for our students but PD facilitators do not do that for us. We will all receive the same instruction no matter our needs. That irks me.

@Julie_Cobb @bmkeducation @nearpod Absolutely agree with you- Ss know how to use technology socially - as they see fit, but they can be so naive about safety and possible future implications. At school, many Ss are not as tech savvy as we think: troubleshooting and purposeful use have to be taught and modeled.

@bmkeducation @nearpod I think that is part of it. They assume because Ss know how to use the device, that they know how to use it to learn! And that is most often not the case. They know how to use it to entertain. They know how to make puddles not dots. #nearpodchat

A2: #DigCit is just as important as any other procedure we teach. If we give Ss any tool we teach the appropriate way to use it. “Don’t use a puddle of glue, use a dot.” “Here is a Chromebook”should come w/the same attention to appropriate use. #nearpodchat

We are taking our Ss to the library to explore &check out books: we usually start with “speed dating”, but we’re w/out a librarian until Oct, & it’s too much right now. So we were thinking of doing a “What’s you Genre?”Type of buzz feed quiz. Any one already have one?

@mthornton78 Also - some Ss expressed feeling anxious coming into a new room, new teacher, new team of Ss and not having a seat to go to. This way they feel more comfortable, and Ss wanting to sit anywhere get a couple/few days of that, too.

@mthornton78 On Day 1 or 2, I use a seating chart for connecting names and faces. On Day 2 or 3, Ss choose their own seat; then, Ss sit somewhere different for the next day or two. Then Ss give input as to where they want to sit and w/whom.

Honest question…what’s the purpose of a seating chart at the beginning of the school year when you haven’t met the students?

@ninaturner I kinda agree actually. If yall have a baby unless it's extreme abuse they should work it out. Especially for the unborn child that will have it harder if the part.

Pregnant women in Missouri cannot legally get a divorce. My God.

@CamHeyward @NotJustFootball I hear ya Cam… Heinz just said it wasn’t worth their investment. They devalued the @steelers and everyone acting like their some kind of hero. This vs a guy from out of town that just dumped million of $’s into the city… #Unbelievable
