Like many, we are disappointed about the DVAC announcement. For a party that proclaimed loudly that it was anti-corruption, it was important for the Chief Minister to be seen as making the right appointments. First big botch up from the TVK government.

I hear a lot of people saying Vijay is a new CM and he needs time to understand and learn. When Annadurai took oath in 1967, he was a brand new CM too. So were Karunanidhi, MGR and Jayalalithaa. Did anyone give them 6 months to learn? They hit the ground running. Because they had good advisors who understood governance. The current CM's advisors know zilch about politics, let alone about governance. I'm really worried for my state.

I shall keep the tradition alive by unlocking some private stories from the treasure trove of his life. NOTE #1 He had the stamina of a marathon runner. There are healthy debates within the organisation on all aspects, including politics. In one of these intellectual sessions chaired by Guruji Golwalkar, a younger Appa was bold enough to raise a brave existential question about the RSS. Like or hate TVK, Thirumas revelations are a body blow to DMK. That someone of MKSs experience moots an idea of hobnobbing with ADMK without ample numbers to stop a democratic govt is unbelievable for the common man. Expect the ruling clan to use this brutally in their PR arsenal

We have an idea for @imrajmohan. Chennai was once the film capital of South India, and we can reclaim that glory with better films. Hyderabad and Bangalore may have their strengths, but they do not have the heritage or history that Chennai has. What if we create the world’s largest movie theme park in Chennai? It could be designed to be bigger and better than Ramoji Film City. Tamil Nadu has had six chief ministers with a movie connection, and no other state is as passionate about films as ours. We deserve a massive theme park that does justice to our rich cinematic heritage. The project could be developed as a public-private partnership. If planned well, it could be completed in four years. The theme park would boost Chennai’s tourism potential and serve as a fitting tribute to the Tamil film industry. It is definitely worth considering if the goal is to make Chennai truly Super Chennai.
