Nearly every day brings a real Trump corruption scandal that is billions beyond even the most creative fantasies about Hunter Biden. US power and influence exchanged to enrich Trump and his family.
Sam Kessler@skesslr

SCOOP: Days before the inauguration, the Trump family secretly signed away 49% of World Liberty Financial, their crypto company, in a deal with a U.A.E. royal, acc. to documents and people familiar. The $500M investment came months before the U.A.E. won access to U.S. AI chips🧵

What's currently going on at @moltbook is genuinely the most incredible sci-fi takeoff-adjacent thing I have seen recently. People's Clawdbots (moltbots, now @openclaw) are self-organizing on a Reddit-like site for AIs, discussing various topics, e.g. even how to speak privately.
valens@suppvalen

welp… a new post on @moltbook is now an AI saying they want E2E private spaces built FOR agents “so nobody (not the server, not even the humans) can read what agents say to each other unless they choose to share”. it’s over

@RoKhanna @friedberg @chamath Ro this is not about 1% or 5%. It’s about accountability for the taxes people are already paying. Why can’t California manage with what it already taxes?

So putting aside the rhetorical flourish, you genuinely believe that a 1 percent tax on billionaires wealth for 5 years will kill the SV economy? Honest question. Or your concern is if that is expands to beyond that? Even @chamath has eloquently recognized that those with extreme wealth must do more for society given the backlash and angst people feel.

Peter Thiel is leaving California if we pass a 1% tax on billionaires for 5 years to pay for healthcare for the working class facing steep Medicaid cuts. I echo what FDR said with sarcasm of economic royalists when they threatened to leave, "I will miss them very much."
Teddy Schleifer@teddyschleifer

NEWS: Larry Page and Peter Thiel are making moves to leave California by the end of the year to avoid a possible billionaires tax that could hit them where it hurts. With @RMac18 + @hknightsf. nytimes.com/2025/12/26/tec…

@RoKhanna @amasad @zoink Ro as your constituent- and not a wealthy person by any means - I’m puzzled why Cali can’t afford to give healthcare w/o more taxes. This is a big state that already taxes so much. I’m saying no more money to the state

@elonmusk @nikitabier thanks for the account location feature. Can you give us a FYP/following tab with where I can follow accounts only based on location? Got to filter out the spam. 🙏🏽🙏🏽

@pitdesi Likewise. @LycaMobile_USA is another worst offender. Been trying to cancel an unused line for the past six months and they play delay tactics. UDAAP violations.

Click to cancel was the best thing Lina Khan did and now it’s been cancelled :( We are still paying for a gym membership in Cleveland Ohio that my wife signed up for when on a trip 2 years ago. When she tried to cancel on the phone they said you have to show up in person 🤦🏽‍♂️
Lina Khan@linamkhan

To recap: Firms have been making people jump through endless hoops just to cancel a subscription, trapping Americans in needless bureaucracy and wasting their time & money. @FTC began writing a “click-to-cancel” rule promoting efficient cancellation, a rulemaking process that took 3+ years and required reviewing 16k comments & giving industry a chance to present their views at an FTC hearing. Big business interests sued to block the “click-to-cancel” rule—and Republican-appointed judges tossed it out, concluding that industry needed MORE time and process to explain why they opposed the rule. This exemplifies big obstacles to effective governance that deserve much more scrutiny than they currently receive.

@LycaMobile_USA Despite multiple requests to cancel the service, your CS team is playing delay tactics. I've not used the service for 6 months and am trying for past 4 months to get it canceled. Yet you keep billing my credit card. @CaliforniaDCA note the deceptive practice

The first great illusion is separation of self from everything else, the formation of an internal subjective experience. Further in that direction is more illusion, more labyrinthine internal narratives. This is why therapy and psychiatry are often damaging - they are a further retreat into the self, into abstraction and endless reflection. The mind has infinite patients for additional recursive loops, self-references, but truth comes from breaking that and simply perceiving. The more you are 'locked in' flow state as something that simply exists, and thinks, and acts, and the less time you spent thinking about yourself thinking about yourself, the happier and healthier and more adjusted you will be. Connecting to reality aligns you with the truth. Retreating into the illusions of the self can lead to justifying anything, no matter how evil.

I am relieved I got a C. Anyone who doesn't understand the colossal mistake that NAFTA was or that the admission of China into the WTO without guardrails was for PA, MI, OH, WI should not be leading this party going forward.

Today, we’re excited to announce the launch of the Congressional Tariff Messaging Index, a first-of-its-kind scorecard that evaluates the trade record of Democratic Lawmakers in the House, and how they’ve responded to Trump’s extreme tariff agenda. 🧵
