The Michigan Street highlight video is in! This project brought a protected bike lane from White River Pkwy to the B&O Trail, reduced vehicular lanes to one travel lane in each direction, introduced new bus pads, outfitted new sidewalks w/ new ADA ramps and curbs, and more!

@JATompkins Dang that's awesome, so when do we break ground!!! 😍 I think one downside of the current Culdesac is it doesn't really mix uses (so streets tend to be empty); I wonder if our Indy version could include more of a mix of retail/business on the interior (a good public square?)

I was curious to see what a car-free development would conceptually look like on the site of the former's state Women's Prison. Using paseos and mews for circulatory access can yield several hundred new apartments in a car free community surrounding pockets of greenspace

@WilliamHazen7 @IndyFuel With the Purple line opening, I wonder if a good first step could be an express connector between a stop on the purple line and downtown Fishers🤔 Maybe not the best solution long term, but it could be done "today" to start providing regional connectivity.

@josiahkeller @Pacersbikeshare @IndyGoBus That would be brilliant!!! How powerful would that be to connect those two so you could seamlessly mix transit and then bike share for the "last mile"! Secure bike parking at stations would be great as well for riding to the station.

@rileychoe1 Also, I don't care if it's 1am or 1pm... the infrastructure should make it safe to be riding (or driving for that matter). The driver has responsibility as the operator of deadly machinery of course, but ultimately the infrastructure should prevent the possibility of conflict.

Last week Indy DPW Director Brandon Herget spoke with the Board of Public Works regarding our construction partners and engineers change in posture with the crossings along the Monon Trail from the White River to 96th Street.

@nickhasthoughts For real! I have that very chain/lock wrapped on the seat tube of my Yuba Mundo bicycle as we speak 😅 We use it to lock up at swim lessons and the like lol

@nickhasthoughts I love the idea of them kicking off the actual work, that seems way cooler!
When Fishers went to rebuild city hall the mayor started taking actual chunks off the old building with a sledge hammer to kick it off and our kids still talk about it 😂
