You will see the usual cycle: strong condemnation, urgent consultations, and promises of yet another package of sanctions. Because if twenty sanction packages have failed to stop the war, surely the 21st will be the one that works (while the EU increases its purchases of Russian energy). Meanwhile, it is your people who are now losing their homes, healing your wounded, and watching drones fall on your territory. Brussels will offer words and more paperwork, but little that truly changes the reality on the ground. Imagine this has been happening on much larger scale in Ukraine for over four years. If this war is not stopped it will be worse for everyone.

In the coming days, the designated representative of the Government of Ukraine – the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration – will be working in Belgrade. We are counting on mutually beneficial agreements, including on resuming negotiations on a free trade area with Serbia. The President also spoke about his diplomatic agenda for the near future.
