@reallorraine Go for it, Lorraine: anybody who can survive a polar plunge can survive the smell of guano. But you'd struggle to host your TV show or even maintain your Insta feed.

Just back from bit.ly/Best-Exotic at Edinburgh Festival Theatre: a much subtler and more moving take on Moggach's book than the popular film, and a positive, anti-ageist message delivered with great humour and sensitivity. What a treat! Don't miss it!

Find out which book we sold out in its first month (not a great idea!) and the secret of updating a book after it's been printed: bit.ly/RRnews123

"Guidebooks are invaluable on a self-guided holiday. They help with navigation, offer tips about where to eat or fill up that water bottle, and they’re full of local history and fascinating details you might otherwise miss." Read "Why Use a Guidebook?": buff.ly/3j1dcn9

While walking along a public road this morning, minding my own business, a landowner at Dalsetter drove up to me telling me to stick to the public road and not to set one foot on his land. I asked him if he had heard of the Scottish Outdoor Access Code but he just repeated same.

@mtnsofscotland I assume this is Dalsetter on Yell, where SOAC certainly applies. That red notice is not compliant and I do hope you'll be contacting the Shetland Access Officer directly (email/phone), and not just by Tweet @ShetIslandsCll - too easy to ignore. Enforcement is key!
