I handed over all the transcripts for the undergraduate graduands to the college registrars for distribution ahead of the 76th graduation ceremony scheduled from 24th to 27th February 2026. During the 76th graduation ceremony, we will confer PhDs on a record 185 graduands, the highest number at a single graduation ceremony in Makerere’s history. I congratulate the students and the staff of Makerere University on a job well done.

UPDATE: Makerere University has announced a slight decrease in the number of graduates for its 76th graduation ceremony, scheduled to take place from February 24 to 27. The Vice Chancellor, Prof Barnabas Nawangwe, attributes the drop to the effects of COVID-19, noting that in one year, Senior Six candidates were unable to transition to university due to disruptions caused by the pandemic.
