Spot on!! 🎯😎😆 I can’t wait for the comments!! Nicklas Nilsson explains the difference between right-wing and left-wing people in spot-on text on Facebook: "If a right-wing person is gay, then he is, and he doesn't care what others think. If a left-winger is gay, then he demands legal changes, protests against everything and everyone, and turns it into a political struggle. If a right-winger is vegan, then he simply doesn't eat meat. If a left-winger is vegan, then he wants to ban meat, halt food production, and protest outside farms and chicken farms. If a right-winger doesn't like guns, then he just doesn't buy any. If a left-winger doesn't like guns, then he tries to ban them, prevent everyone else from owning one, and hates those who do. If a right-winger is worried about the climate, then he flies less, drives an electric car if it suits him, and sorts his waste. If a left-winger is worried about the climate, then he wants to ban fossil fuel cars, air travel, and meat for everyone else, protest outside factories, and demand that the state forces the change. If a right-winger wants to give his children a good education, then he moves to an area with good schools, or chooses a private school, or gets involved himself. If a left-winger wants to give his children a good education, then he demands more tax money from everyone, equal results for all, a ban on charter schools, and protests against every inequality. If a right-winger complains about his job or workplace.. he doesn't. He changes jobs or starts his own business. If a left-winger complains about his job – then it's the boss, the company, or the colleagues who are at fault. He demands collective agreements, strikes, changes for the whole community, and protests against the company so that it suits him. If a right-winger is dissatisfied with his housing or rent, then he moves, renovates, or buys something else. If a left-winger is dissatisfied with his housing or rent, then he demands rent freezes, more subsidies, regulations for everyone, and protests against landlords and politicians. If a right-winger fails with a business or an investment that goes wrong, then he gets up, dusts himself off, and tries again tomorrow. If a left-winger runs out of money on the 24th, then he blames the rich for having too much and needing to contribute more, blames the lottery win that didn't come home last week, and mutters that he has such damn bad luck. If a right-winger sees this – then he sends it to a few friends for a good laugh. If a left-winger sees this – then he tries to argue against it, get it removed, and delete me from Facebook."

£45/year is better to have than not, I guess. But that works out at 12p/day. Even for poor families that really is trivial.
AJ umoh@aj_umoh

@afneil Thanks for the clarification. My point remains that £45 isn't trivial for many families. Whether it's enough to change purchasing decisions is a separate debate.

Pubs deserve our backing. I’m not sure some of @JohnHealey_MP's choices here do though... Our 20% cut in business rates will benefit thousands of pubs, clubs and music venues across the country.

I'm used to people telling me things can't be done. I didn't accept it then. I won't accept it now. It's time to get Britain believing again and bring back hope. This week is just the start. mirror.co.uk/news/politics/…

🤦‍♂️ Angela Rayner’s Radio 4 interview this morning was a complete car crash. The Housing Minister all but confessed that Labour is about to let the country down and ditch another central election pledge. She compared delivering 1.5 million homes to her personally running a marathon in under five hours — something she’ll attempt, but may never finish. She tells us not to underestimate her. Yet the last time she held this brief, planning permissions for new homes crashed to their lowest level in more than a decade. “Look, I am straight talking. 1.5m homes is a difficult target. It was when I made the target, but I’m going to keep the target and I’m not going to be defeated.” She knows perfectly well they will fall miles short. Then the familiar bravado: “People have underestimated me all my life and if you tell me that I can’t do something, I’ll go hellbent to get it done.” The problem? She has just spent the entire interview pretty much admitting she can’t get it done! Empty words, familiar excuses, and another broken promise in the making.

Pubs, clubs and live music venues are at the heart of communities across the UK - which is why we will back them all the way. We’re determined to bring hope back, give businesses the support they need and generate growth in every postcode. x.com/andyburnham/st…
Andy Burnham@andyburnham

I’m giving thousands of pubs, clubs and music venues a 20% cut in business rates. I won’t stand by while these cherished local spaces disappear, replaced by boarded-up windows and ‘For Sale’ signs. They’re the heart of our communities and it’s time we backed them.

Angela Rayner is the absolute definition of a shameless hypocrite. She quit the cabinet in disgrace last year over her tax scandal, pocketed a £16,876 severance payment, and has now waltzed straight back into the exact same job. And when asked to hand the money back? She refused point blank, defending it with the pathetic excuse that it was “a year ago”. Yes, Angela. It was a year ago. And now you’re back in the job. So give the public’s money back, you money-grabbing hypocrite. Even worse, she has the brass neck to claim that unlike the Tories, she and Labour are “focused on delivering for the British people” and “not looking like we’re in it for ourselves”. She actually said that while defending keeping thousands of pounds she should never have received in the first place after returning to the same role within a year. The sheer shamelessness is breathtaking. One rule for her, another for everyone else. Absolute brass neck.
