Uber eats, just eat. All of them just shit. Works on the happy path, if not? Actively hostile websites that make it hard to get actual help

@Se_Railway just seen a family with a wheelchair user awaiting assist on platform, missing the staff I waved over & instead of helping to the closest ramp, says "you're a bit late" as they watch the train come into the platform, wait, & leave w/out them. Not accessibility, is it.

Incredible! @TeamGB's Megs Havers - the youngest archer at Paris 2024 - delivered the ultimate shoot-off shot to stun France's Amelie Cordeau! 😲 The 16-year-old moves on to the last eight. 👏 #BBCOlympics #Olympics #Paris2024

Incredible service from @UberEats . We have been waiting 1.5 hours for our food, with the time shifting every minute. We call wanting to cancel, they say they wont cancel. We asked to escalate and they said "they did not wish to waste any more time" and then hung up on us.

@histoftech Would like to know the actual cost of this stuff, for accountability. Saw the use of gen ai instead of manually written image descriptions described as a saving of "90%" - the word 'costs' shouldn't mean just 'cash'. it would be embarrassing if it wasn't creepy!

So far evidence for competition between managed honey bees & wild bees has always thought to be indirect competition for resources. Now evidence is emerging that in areas of high honey bee density & reduced flower availability honey bees are actually robbing wild bees of pollen.

@donal_tweets @LeaVerou People who have time to do unpaid work have time to prepare thoroughly and widely. If hirers don't want a candidate pool to be biased, sharing what to prepare means that prep time is well spent 😃

Hot take: behavioral interview questions (“Tell me about a time…”) should be sent to candidates in advance. Reasons to send in advance: 1. More time to comb through their whole career to find a good example is a *good thing*. Otherwise you can’t tell the difference between inexperience and poor recall (if your objective actually were to test recall, there are far better tests for it!). 2. Those who would BS don’t need extra time, so giving a heads up levels the playing field for non-bullshitters 3. Most candidates prepare for them anyway, so ambushing ends up favoring those with the most extra time (often young white dudes) 4. Certain types of neurodivergent folks (eg #ADHD) are particularly bad at this kind of recall and it has nothing to do with their actual skills. Reasons to ambush: 1. ???
