@rheem Hi there, our new house has a water heater model number XG50T06EC38U1 and I was told the thermocouple is bad. But I bought a Home Depot kit and it is very different. What do I need to replace the thermocouple or pile or whatever? Instructions said to cut it out :(

@deltafaucet Thanks, but not sure that is correct. I have that kit and the plastic part that the stem comes through is a slot shape not a shield, and the tab is a lot wider than the one on mine so it does not slide into place. Also my current is a square stem, new one is diamond...?
