sh*t money for such a role in london!!!
and this is a well-known design agency that does projects for the biggest brands in the world!
immense pressure,
huge profit,
...
yet, !
[no, im not going to expose the name]
I ran 5-year cost projection, self-hosting at @laravelphp is 3.5x cheaper than if were to use Vercel/Supabase. As much as I love using vercel/supabase for convenience but damn you really pay the price for it, which almost feels like forcing you and pressuring you to grow faster.
I went all in with bootstrapping 1 year ago, got rejected by a PM role in Bangkok 1 month ago, and my savings were almost drained.
I pivoted into apps at the beginning of 2025. It was an existential crisis at low $100 MRR in the first half of 2025.
Then I really started learning about marketing 1 month ago and went fully locked in.
Today I 10x’d my app to $1600 MRR, 500k organic views, and $0 ad spend.
Keep going. Don’t give up.
@benlaudesign@cursor_ai Yep you bet! Building a few products at the moment, all using cursor. The tab is great but i’m not loving the frequent changes on usage dan pricing etc.
@iamdavidhill@LaraconUS I use Laravel for my all projects and this gives me such joy to see the product being elevated like this. This was so amazing to see
@michael_kove Yeah, I have the same doubt about that too. I’m sorry I’m not buying all this hype. The product is really not worth that valuation. Still seems like a glorified prototyping tool tbh
"How is Lovable a $100M ARR company, I don't know anyone is using it?!?!"
this is a sign that we are in a bubble.
Non-technical users are using it.
...business owners without a hint of dev experience use it.
You know what they are NOT using?
Cursor.
Claude Code.
VSCode+Copilot.
Bolt. dev
Figma
They don't even know those exist.
