My feral cat is using an old dog house I found in the alleyway. Stuck a heating pet-pad inside, plus some food. Warms my heart to see her using it. It’s brutal out there 🥶

@MotherEarth2024 Can you brush snow out? Whisk broom? Put something on one side of doghouse to keep snow out of at least one part of bed stays snow free? Not good to be wet with melted snow in such cold weather

@rusty731 @RadioFreeTom What amuses me in the U.K. is, sometimes you get these fraught “some people don’t have central heating!” articles, as if that’s like, an infringement of liberty. I don’t have central heating, I have a storage heater and a convection, is just fine :)

@rusty731 @RadioFreeTom My grandparents had coal furnace. There was grate over it. Furnace glowed red when turned on. I believed it was gate to hell. No heat on 2nd floor, just grate in 1st floor ceiling for heat to rise up. My mother said there were icicles inside her room every morning around windows

@TNSouthernlib Plus MSNBC has hired some commentators with such horrible voices that I cannot bear to listen to them. I have to ask my husband to turn volume down when 4 people are onscreen yelling about the same damn thing every damn day. Is it deliberate? The top exec is rightwing.

MSNBC is reduced to covering a horserace where they excitedly tell us who's going to come in 25-30 points behind the frontrunner. This is a joke and they could be talking about the economy, stock market, gas prices, student loan relief, unemployment or the freaking weather.

@RadioFreeTom And it’s true people who go to rehab for addiction used to be sent to psych facility in old days to “go through DTs.” But even if patients with dementia, withdrawal or syphilis made up 50% of psych beds, that’s still 25% of hospitalized population having a form of mental illness

@RadioFreeTom In 1955, 50 percent of all hospital beds in the United States were psychiatric beds. It is true that many patients in state psych facilities were there because of syphilis and what was then called “senile dementia” but most patients weren’t there for either of those illnesses.

The Right says Obama divided the Country. Outside of being Black, what exactly did he do to create this division? The answer is nothing. He was avg on policy, landed a healthcare bill, brought us out of recession, killed Bin Laden and wore a tan suit. How is this divisive?
