@ark_r @SrMikeProvlone @ayesha_fatiima What I said was just an example. There are many other reasons as well. For example, you can not convince an illustration artist to dump Adobe Suite and start using inkscape and gimp.

@saadrbd @SrMikeProvlone @ayesha_fatiima Let me guess: you haven't seen Linux for at least a decade.
English

@_LunarBird_ @SrMikeProvlone @ayesha_fatiima I use Linux myself and love it, despite the fact that my machine has a built-in Windows product key. But that doesn’t mean it’s perfect for every use case. There is always room for improvement.

@saadrbd @SrMikeProvlone @ayesha_fatiima Windows costs money.
Linux doesn't.
How are you comparing a paid product of a monopolist company to a free OS and wondering how come the latter took longer to achieve certain things?
Also the OS dominating servers is not commercial Windows. It's free Linux.

@saadrbd @ayesha_fatiima Huh, fedora was easy. I don't use the terminal or anything. I have an ryzen 9 and 9070xt and am5 motherboard. So maybe that setup just works out of the box
English

@_LunarBird_ @SrMikeProvlone @ayesha_fatiima Yes, but the only problem here is "Now." Because windows was able to achieve that functionality decades ago and now has the largest desktop user base in the world.
English

@saadrbd @SrMikeProvlone @ayesha_fatiima 1. Windows doesn't have swap partition. :P
2. Most Windows users never even touch paging file configuration and those who do would be able to learn how to do it in Linux as it's NOT that hard.
3. Most Linux distros now autdetect swap.

@JonRickSanchez @SrMikeProvlone @ayesha_fatiima Lol, you seem to think everybody on the planet is a tech nerd. But the market dont work on delusions. There is a reason Windows has been the largest desktop operating system in terms of marketshare for 3 decades now.
English

@saadrbd @SrMikeProvlone @ayesha_fatiima Hahahaha, never seen a bigger ignorant than you... Stop spreading BS because all you achieve is that you look like uneducated idiot.
English

@SrMikeProvlone @ayesha_fatiima What I was trying to say is you gotta be slightly more into tech to make things work on linux. One example is the swap partition setup, which is manual in linux and automatic in Windows.
English

@saadrbd @ayesha_fatiima I use fedora and never had that issue. I've been using Linux for a year now. Mainly for games
English

@Shivam25mishra Because its free, open-source, lightweight, fast, well integrated with Git and has a ton of extensions.
