💢 GAZA | March 23, 2026 Israel killed 9 Palestinians and injured 30 across Gaza over the three days of the Eid holiday, including three civilian police officers assassinated in a targeted strike on their vehicle. 🔹On Monday, Israeli forces shot and wounded two Palestinians in Beit Lahia and Jabalia al-Balad in northern Gaza. Israeli naval forces also set a fishing boat on fire off the coast of the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza (see video below). 🔹Separately, 11 Palestinian detainees were released from Israeli prisons and transferred to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah. Israel continues to hold some 14,000 Palestinians in its network of torture camps. 🔹Reports from the weekend detail the detention and torture of a 1-and-a-half-year-old child, Kareem Abu Nassar, during an Israeli operation near Al-Maghazi in central Gaza. According to family accounts shared by local media, Israeli soldiers detained the father, Osama Abu Nassar, separated him from his son, and stripped and interrogated him at a checkpoint. During this time, the child was reportedly tortured in front of his father to coerce a confession—burned with cigarettes and pierced with a metal object—before being released after roughly 10 hours via the Red Cross. The father remains in Israeli custody. 🔹The total death toll since October 7, 2023 has reached 72,263 killed and 171,944 wounded. Since October 11, the first full day of the so-called ceasefire, Israeli forces have killed at least 687 Palestinians and wounded 1,845 more. Another 756 bodies have been recovered from under the rubble, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
