Ignore the urge to Japa and focus on using your knowledge to develop your country— Pope Leo tells African youths
Pope Leo XIV has urged African youths to prioritize national development over migration, delivering a strong message during his ongoing tour of the continent.
Speaking to students in Yaoundé, capital of Cameroon, the Pope said: “In the face of the understandable tendency to migrate… I invite you… to respond with an ardent desire to serve your country and to apply the knowledge you are acquiring here to the benefit of your fellow citizens.”
He emphasized the need for young people to address challenges at home, adding that Africa must confront corruption directly. “Africa, indeed, must be freed from the scourge of corruption. For young people, this awareness must take root from their years of formation,” he said.
Highlighting the role of education, Leo added: “You learn to become builders of the future of your respective countries and of a world that is more just and humane.”

@Dheymo_ex@instablog9ja Brother, Ofcourse prostitution has been in any country since time immemorial and I’m not referring to that but the “Drug Allegations” Doesn’t it surprise you how NDLEA arrest and bust has gone so low in recent years especially in the south west. Does that now imply non-existent ?
@saheedthegreat@instablog9ja So prostitution wasn't in South Africa till Nigerians came? Or drug trafficking? They are just delusional and you know that because it is common sense
