You won't find such things done by other communities, they don't close their business no matter what, some even remain open when there's wedding at home. Business is a serious thing, carelessness & laziness leads to closer of business in 5<.

Retail shops & businesses in muslim area's remain closed till 3 pm reason told is friday prayers. This is a lame excuse of laziness, shop owners don't care for the loss of their business & customer diverting towards other shops.
