Naija Confra can report that Samson Onilewaji, alias “Daddy Yo,” an Eiye (ACN) cult leader arrested with a human h@nd last week, in connection with the recent cult k**lings in Lagos State, is no longer in police custody. We challenge the Nigerian Police Force and the Lagos State Police Command to publicly debunk this report with evidence that Samson remains in lawful detention. On June 23, 2026, Naija Confra published video evidence relating to k**lings that occurred within Eti-Osa and Ibeju-Lekki LGAs of Lagos State. Among the incidents captured was the brutal k**ling of 2 Aye (NBM) cultists known as Omo Long and Ikuto. The footage showed one of the victims, Omo Long, whose h@nd was sev£red during the att@ck. That same day, police intercepted a vehicle carrying some of the suspected perpetrators. While others escaped, Samson was arrested. He was found in possession of gvns, axes, and the severed hand. Naija Confra subsequently published footage showing Samson in a police vehicle and later obtained a clear picture of him in custody alongside the recovered items. However, concerns arose when the Lagos State Police Command did not publicly release information about the arrest on their social media pages until June 26 - approximately 72 hours after the arrest, and 48 hours after Naija Confra had already posted about his arrest. More troubling was the manner in which the police reported the case after they finally posted it. Their official statement focused on the POS machines and ATM cards they claimed was also recovered from the suspect, while making no reference to the k**lings connected to the human h@nd. Samson was portrayed primarily as an armed robbery suspect rather than as an individual linked to murd£r. The situation became even more alarming when, few days later, Naija Confra received reports that Samson was no longer in police custody and had been released without trial only days after his arrest. We reached out to the Lagos State Police Command for clarification but they had no response. Sources familiar with Samson confirmed that he was no longer in police custody and provided information regarding his current whereabouts. If a k**ler caught with gvns and a human h@nd can be secretly freed few days after his arrest, then imagine how many other criminals have secretly evaded justice. This is the reason why cult groups retaliate, because they know that the authorities will not give them justice. This is the reason why many cult clashes in places like Eti-Osa, Ibeju-Lekki, and other parts of Nigeria never end, because many police officers are also cultists who work with cultists to continue the violence instead of stopping it, and secretly allow their members go after any arrest. When people ask us why we do not always tag the police in our reports, it is because of situations like this. Over the years, we have seen countless false reports from institutions like the police and some big media that claim to uphold integrity - sometimes their lies make Naija Confra’s truth look like a lie, because they are the establishment. This incident will not change our view of the good police officers, but it only exposes the failure within the Lagos State Police Command and the Nigerian Police Force. This also proves that Nigeria is a failed state and exposes the corruption within it. This is a very big disgrace. We urge every citizen to fight for themselves because, in the end, nobody will save you - not even your government.
