@madison_tayt Dancers, in many of the pro companies now, do crosstrain with weights all the time! It’s an important part of maintaining bone density, musculature, and tendon support for pointe. I have to now that I dance more days a week on my shoes!

@RihnAndrew Thanks, this line came from thinking about Illness as Metaphor and the way Sontag specifically articulated the fashion for tuberculosis but layered under the text, the universality of suffering, her own cancer as unspecial and hindering of her real intellectual self.

If the kindness among writers often astonishes me, the cruelty makes me wish I could disappear. Books and music and films are the most generous places I know.

Idk why men get so mad when women don’t want to lift heavy weights.. dancers don’t use any weights and are still incredibly toned, lighten up :/
