We are devastated and heartbroken to learn about the tragic loss of our colleagues at @AlMayadeenNews , Rabih Maamari and Farah Omar, two young and vibrant Lebanese reporters in the south of Lebanon. Their untimely killing is not just a loss to journalism, but to Lebanon and to the entire nation which they served with courage, commitment, and a relentless pursuit of truth. These brave souls went into the depths of reality, telling stories that needed to be heard, at great personal risk. While the world is busy celebrating #WorldChildrenDay, real children in Gaza are being massacred. More than 5000 children killed in 40 days. While international organisations are busy writing statements, Gazan children are being bombed so horribly that their little bodies are turning into pieces. While world leaders are busy advocating for children’s rights, children in Gaza are being forgotten. While the world continues to allow a genocide, 1 million children are being starved in Gaza. While you’re getting ready to celebrate Christmas, children in Gaza are writing their names on their legs to be identified when killed. Millions of Palestinian children have been terrorised while those in power pay for their genocide. Palestinian children deserve their rights just like the rest of this world’s children.
