@yegor256 RESTful APIs still have their place. The same as CLIs. And MCPs. Different tools for different jobs. And in fact, I’d prefer using skilled AI-Agents with a clean REST API over MCPs often enough. More predictable, less token-consumption. Not a hard rule, but a thinking model.

RESTful APIs may be dead soon. Instead, web services may expose a single POST entry point for a prompt. Internally, an AI agent may decide how to interpret it and what to do with the data and the database.

Here's why you want Local AI and only use Frontier Models as a second tier: futurism.com/artificial-int… Regardless of true, it shows the issue: You are handing over valuable personal data, and you're even paying for this privilege.

Imagine deploying 1,000,000 lines of code written in 6 days by AI that no human has ever read, let alone reviewed, to production where your customer’s data is. Imagine

@YoavCodes @gulshanur Disagree. Vibecoded is when you do a one-shot prompt and just hope for the best. There's a lot of ways one would never see code, yet could reach a good-enough quality using automated reviews and guardrails.

@HermesAgentTips Wrong framing, IMO. The correct approach is not to compete. The correct approach is to steer and control. That shifts it from a race one could never win to something where we would win in any way. Think about it.

In 2028, you won't be competing with one genius You'll be competing with a million of them! running simultaneously, never sleeping, never disagreeing with each other on any deadlines Dario Amodei just reconfirmed this He's saying "a country of Nobel level experts compressed into a datacenter" Not one AI. Not a team of AIs. An entire nation. That's less than 3 years away whats one skill you hope stays human only past 2028?

@icanvardar Can't imagine the Meta Employee Morale ever having been something else than 'low'. I mean, working on FB, Instagram, and with Zuck? Just kidding. Most likely. Perhaps.

@sflorimm You don't want this. Keep them separate - it is enough for Apple to do your payments, host your data, track you across their ecosystem. iCloud Private Relay does what might feel reasonable. Take the rest into your control.

@plainionist 100% ACK. And I say this as Developer, Architect, Book-Author, LinkedIn-Trainer. But with a few caveats: Proper guardrails, proper prompting, proper review. Without them, it would write code of questionable quality and with a bunch of security issues.

Uncomfortable truth: LLMs already write better code than many mediocre developers. Agree? 🤔

@Makuh90 But they are? I mean, one could use Linux on the boxes. 🤷‍♂️ TBH: Me as someone daily-driving Linux for decades now (next to my Macs) knows this feeling. But here's the difference: Windows Versions will follow. Linux? Not so often. Welcome to my hell.

Switching from @github to Forgejo (forgejo.org). By the looks of it, a fully featured drop-in replacement for GH, completely FOSS. Currently spending around 100+ USD per month on GH for Actions, Orgs, etc. - and the code is in @Microsoft's hands. Not viable.
