After 13 extraordinary years, I am moving on from @peakxvpartners to start a new venture capital firm with my two partners who I have known for decades - @dvbydt (Ashish), a friend since middle school (28 years and counting), and @tejeshwi_sharma (TJ), my tennis partner from undergrad ~20 years ago. This decision comes with immense gratitude and excitement in equal measure. To my partners at Peak XV - @sjs_day1 @gvravishankar @mobhat @i_sakshichopra @RajanAnandan @rohitagar_wal - thank you for the partnership, the trust, and the shared ambition to back the best founders in India and Southeast Asia. I owe a lot to Sequoia Capital and its leadership, Michael Moritz and Douge Leone. Their vision and commitment to venture capital will continue to be an inspiration for what we wish to build. And to the founders and companies I have had the privilege to work with - @Razorpay, @mamaearthindia, @Onecard, @CarDekho, @heydigit, @FinovaCapital, @GoodScore_app and @myawfis - working alongside you and learning from you all has been the most rewarding part of this journey. Watching you build, scale, and create lasting impact has been phenomenal. We believe the next great investment firm in the world will come out of India. And we want to build that. India isn’t just growing, it’s exploding with opportunity. We’re the fastest-growing major economy in the world. We have the youngest, most ambitious population of any large country. And, technology is reaching every corner of India faster than anyone could have imagined, even a few years ago. The next 20 years in India will produce world-class companies across every sector - AI, consumer, fintech, healthcare, manufacturing, climate, and categories we haven’t even named yet. The founders building these companies will be world-class, and we want to be in the trenches with them from day one. TJ, Ashish and I are thrilled about the opportunity to build an investment firm that is entrepreneurial, ambitious, and maniacally focused on backing the founders who will define the next phase of innovation in India. We will do it with patience, partnership, and a long-term commitment to company building. I couldn’t be more excited about what’s ahead.

Around 6 weeks ago, I had a mild stroke out of the blue. Dad passing away, poor sleep, exhaustion, dehydration, and overworking out —any of these could be possible reasons. I've gone from having a big droop in the face and not being able to read or write to having a slight droop but being able to read and write more. From being absent-minded to more present-minded. So, 3 to 6 months for full recovery. I wondered why a person who's fit and takes care of himself could be affected. The doctor said you need to know when you need to shift the gears down a bit. Slightly broken, but still getting my treadmill count. 🙂
