Shadi Karami Abdel-'Al, 35, is married with three children. On the night of March 24, 2026, an Israeli force penetrated the Halta farm in the Kfar Shuba municipality in the Arqoub area, and kidnapped Abdel-'Al. As the occupation forces withdrew, they opened fire on people who came to the scene, which led to the martyrdom of Mohamed Abdel-'Al and the injury of Ashraf Al-Qadiri with a bullet in the pelvis. Legal Agenda reported that the following day, the Israeli army admitted to carrying out the operation inside Lebanese territory, claiming that they had abducted a man involved with the Resistance, and that elements of the “Igoz” unit, under the command of the 210th Division, carried out the operation. However, this statement did not contain Abdel-'Al's name, his place of detention, or any information that would allow his family to verify his condition. 🚨Families of Syrian detainees held in Israeli prisons staged a protest yesterday outside the UNDOF headquarters in northern Quneitra, demanding the immediate release of their relatives and the disclosure of their fate in Israeli detention.

Atwi Mohammed Atwi, the official of the Islamic Group in Hasbaya and Marjayoun, southern Lebanon, was abducted from his home in the village of Al-Hebbariyeh in the early morning hours of Monday, February 9, 2026. Around 4:00 am, Zionist forces invaded Al-Hebbariyeh -- of which Atwi Atwi formerly served as mayor -- which sits at least 4 kilometers from the border with occupied Palestine. According to reports, the invading "Israeli" force reached the house on foot through olive groves and stormed it while Atwi and his wife were inside. Five Zionist soldiers entered the house, one of them masked, and assaulted both of them. The wife was then taken to the kitchen, handcuffed and blindfolded. The force later withdrew through the olive grove, leaving behind a large stretcher. Witnesses from the town reported that three military jeeps were seen leaving the center of the town toward Jabal al-Saddaneh via a paved road running through wooded areas. Atwi Atwi is a prominent community leader, and a leader of the Islamic Group, which the United States designated as a so-called "foreign terrorist organization" on January 13, 2026, seemingly providing the Zionists with a "green light" for just such an attack and invasion and underlining the ongoing U.S. role and complicity in the attacks on Lebanon, including repeated assassinations, bombings, drone strikes and abductions. Indeed, the Zionist military and security agencies have since boasted of their "accomplishment" of abducting a political figure from his village in the middle of the night while the resistance has continued to uphold its commitment to the ceasefire of November 2024. There are now more Lebanese prisoners abducted after the ceasefire than prior to it, with at least 21 Lebanese imprisoned in Zionist jails since 2024, with three additional historic figures who have been the subject of enforced disappearance by the Zionist regime for decades.

I am excited to share this translation of this memoir, "This Is How I Came to Know Abu Suhaib Izz al-Din al-Haddad: And So, I will never forget him."  The original Arabic reflection on Commander Izz al-Din al-Haddad (Abu Suhaib) was originally circulated on private channels. I became aware of it vi Khaled Safi, who kindly gave me permission to translate this into English. This piece of writing was authored by an al-Qassam Brigades fighter writing under the anonymous nom-de-plume, “Abdulaziz.” The writer not only knew al-Haddad for over twenty years but also worked intimately under him. Based on what this memoir reveals, he also participated in the “Great Crossing” of and the Flood. This insightful short piece offers some novel historical facts about Qassam’s operational history, including, first and foremost, the specifics of how the Lebanese Hizbu’llah’s closed-wire communication system was imported from South Lebanon to Gaza after a number of Qassam fighters had traveled from Gaza to training sessions with their comrades to the north. Figures like al-Haddad and Fadi al-Batsh helped implement this networked arrangement. Furthermore, Abdulaziz’s reflections detail how the indigenous weapons manufacturing transpired within Gaza, with al-Haddad playing an important role in this endeavor as well. "When the al-Furqan War (2008–2009) broke out, the network quickly proved its worth. Abu Suhaib made extensive use of the network, avoiding wireless communications whenever possible. He also personally oversaw the repair of lines that were repeatedly severed under the relentless bombardment. In the military assessment conducted after the war, Abu Suhaib submitted a strategic report recommending a complete transition to a wired communications network. The group later relied on that report in its efforts to persuade the Qassam Brigades’ Military Council to adopt the concept and institutionalize it as a permanent strategy. Consequently, what began as a simple idea and a modest switchboard in the al-Tuffah neighborhood gradually evolved into a weapon in its own right. Over time, it burgeoned into a major technical latticework that drew some of the movement’s most skilled engineers and commanded vast resources. Had it not been for God’s grace, and for Abu Suhaib’s willingness to champion the idea and take a chance on it, the communications network would never have seen the light of day in Gaza. […] Abu Suhaib’s maverick leadership did not end there. He became the foremost champion of every unconventional and innovative idea. When [...] Haitham Shamali (Abu al-Walid), who was assassinated by occupation agents in July 2025, proposed using GPS technology to guide robotic systems, Abu Suhaib immediately embraced the concept and made a point of attending every field test. He responded in much the same way when another group proposed building a GPS-guided submersible. He worked alongside them to overcome technical obstacles and even personally invited Sheikh Raed Saad to observe the trials and lend his support. [...] Our greatest consolation today is that Abu Suhaib did not leave this world before raising a generation of steadfast fighters who will avenge the blood of their leaders and unflaggingly carry on the struggle. Even now, I can see a remarkable generation taking shape, a generation driven by an unyielding love for its land. It is being forged amid the rain of rockets, born from the rubble and the mounting toll of the fallen. It will be galvanized by a generation that has lost faith in the false promises of international justice and the impotence of the aging United Nations international order."

Breaking | Israel’s Supreme Court has rejected the appeal filed by Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya's lawyer against the extension of his detention, ruling that he will continue to be held under the Unlawful Combatants Law without any criminal charges being brought against him. According to information provided to Physicians for Human Rights Israel (PHRI) by the lawyer, Attorney Nasser Odeh, Dr. Abu Safiya remains in solitary confinement in Nafha Prison under harsh detention conditions and continues to be denied necessary medical care despite his deteriorating health.

I wanted to read this in pursuit of one positive thing. It kind of completely exonerates Israel of its 100-year liability for the plight and genocide of Palestinians and throws it on Hamas. This is a sick and racist approach of the current situation aimed at legitimising the treacherous Israel-serving Palestinian Authority and easing Israel’s expansion into Palestine. So-called Palestinian NGOs partaking in this disgrace never represent the Palestinian people or seek to achieve their demands but rather further their pain. The Guardian’s pernicious report and any similar malign international efforts to make this plausible after a live-streamed genocide will never pay off and find currency among Palestinians because they only embolden the perpetrators and punish the victims.
