@JaydenGodwin99 I think waste reduction week is such a great idea! It encourages a whole school approach which spreads even more awareness around the SDGs. A great incorporation for any SDG unit.

@samjl138 Having your students develop a sense of ownership and responsibility is a great outcome of a classroom based project Sam. I plan on having my students make their own worm farm for composting. Your could have your students do something similar for SDG15, maybe raising chickens?

@JaydenGodwin99 @MissNelson98 I believe connected classrooms are a great idea! I think it would be useful for contacting other skills and learning programs they have in place to reduce waste generation such as 'nude food days', etc.

@BellaWightman Group tasks! I love how group tasks effectively encourages students to collaborate with one another. On top of this, Project Based Learning is another tool in which we can facilitate the collaboration between students.

@BreeseCharly Spot on! I would have students create a 'Pros and Cons' list. I would most likely do this as a whole class activity and encourage all students to contribute.

@Miss_GRiley I have indeed, Grace! The Kooragang Wetland Rehabilitation Project is in Hexham and provides school excursions that teaches Ss sustainable plans to maintain biodiversity and our local ecosystems.

A similar type of excursion would be great for the unit I am teaching in regards to #SDG15. Teaching students the importance of sustainable actions to halt the degradation of our land is a top priority of mine, particularly in my unit. #UoNTeach #educ4750

@samjl138 I think some teachers start too big with PBL & it can become overwhelming. Maybe small projects are helpful for strategic targeting of direct instruction around skills they need to develop.
